"Tyler" Hunter Doohan on "Wednesday": "Nobody expected such a buzz
The American actor talks about his role, meeting fans and what he'd like to play one day.

When Wednesday of the Addams Family got its own series, it stayed at the top of the Netflix charts for weeks. "Wednesday" became a mega-success. The love story between Wednesday and Tyler Galpin, a café worker who hides a dark secret revealed at the end of the first season, is particularly captivating.

Tyler is played by Hunter Doohan (29), who spoke to KURIER about "my coolest role". "It was so much fun to play a character with such a big secret. I actually played two roles in one," he said.

He didn't forget that the series was going so well that there was nothing to say about it. "Als 'Wednesday' herauskam, war ich gerade zu Hause in Arkansas, weil Thanksgiving war. No one got wind of the craze. And today, I realize that I've had a catastrophic year," says Doohan.

He was also recognized on the street. "I had a very nice interaction with a fan, when a young girl asked me and I was very sad to learn that she had never seen the series. I was very quickly caught off guard and said: 'I hope you like it, if you've already seen it once'." A second series is planned, but nothing has been scheduled yet. "Netflix is going to kill me," Doohan grumbles. "I can't say much about the fact that we're going through this year and I feel very uncomfortable about going back and seeing everyone later."
