EDEM IDIM IBESIT BOILS AS SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTES GOES BERSERK
...AS VILLAGE HEAD LIED AGAINST HIS SUBJECTS.

According to supernews correspondence, a meeting was held on Saturday 20th January, 2024 by 9:am at Qua Iboe church, Edem Idim Ibesit in attempt to dialogue and bring the dispute between the village Head and the people of Edem Idim Ibesit to an end.

Sequel to The above, letters were issued to some selected people of Edem Idim Ibesit to attend the meeting by the selected pastors representing the ministers' forum in Edem Idim Ibesit, and, According to the letter, the attendance to the meeting was restricted to invitation.

According to our correspondence, the meeting commenced at exactly 9:15 am after a brief service was taken by the pastors.

Thereafter, a room for dialogue was opened by Rev. Mfon F. Jack, the pastor in charge of Christ African church, Edem Idim Ibesit. He asked the house to briefly explain what exactly brought the dispute between the village Head and his subjects, then Elder Anietie Jacob mentioned in summary mentioned that it was "CHEATING" that brought all the disputes in the village.

According to our correspondence, comrade Godwin Ishmael Benson, the incumbent Youth president of Edem Idim Ibesit who is known by the God of heaven, gods of the land and as well as the people of Edem Idim Ibesit, stood up, addressed the house and pointed out one of the basic conditions to be fulfilled by Chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan, prior to peace-making in the village. He strictly made it clear that since his assumption of office as the youth chairman of Edem Idim Ibesit that he has been suit, petitioned and alleged by Chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan. The youth chairman made it clear that he and his subjects has been alleged of cultism, ra**ng, stealing, etc. perhaps it's a unanimous agreement by the youths of Edem Idim Ibesit that chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan "must" bring the counter claims of these petitions and allegations during the next seating of the meeting and the counter claims must be duly endorsed by his barrister and himself to prove that all the petitions and allegations are countered if he wants the peace- making to hold. In summary, comrade Godwin Ishmael Benson added that he has been a law-abiding citizen at home and in diaspora and that he is surprised to see chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan labeling these accusations against him and his subjects. He finally brought out one of the petitions and handed over to the pastors for proper scrutiny.

According to our correspondence, a room was created by the pastors to hear from chief Aaron Jimmy who stood up and even laid more allegations on the youths and the chairman of the village council, Chief Ime Daniel Okure.

Chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan alleged thus!

* That Edem Idim Ibesit had been a peaceful home when the village council was not divided, but since the division of the village council, that chief Ime Daniel Okure have chosen to create unknown families and family heads in the village, he mentioned that chief Ime Daniel Okure have also used a gang of cultists to caused havoc, violence and crisis in the village.

He further mentioned that comrade Godwin Ishmael Benson was petitioned sequel to the crimes which he committed. That comrade Godwin Ishmael Benson led his youths into his compound to destroy his properties which includes the national flag, borehole facilities,etc.

He mentioned also that, since Godwin Ishmael Benson came into power as the youth chairman, that Edem Idim Ibesit have eventually become a "den of criminals" , that, cultists are operating even in a broad daylight, that many have been killed, many have been victimized by cultists in the village. He mentioned that some of the cultists are on the run. He pointed out that the removal of solar pump that was facilitated by gasline company happened during this regime.

Chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan also made mention that if any Youth president who will emerge after comrade Godwin Ishmael Benson continue like this, that he will continue to react.

Chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan also refused to accept youths autonomy in the village as this was opined by Comrade Emmanuel Effiong Jonah.

The first two conditions placed before chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan are:

* Youths autonomy.ie, the youths should freely elect their leader without the involvement of the village head.

* Counter claims to all the allegations and petitions to be presented at the next meeting.

Since the meeting could not achieve its aim, it was adjourned to 10th February,2024.

ORUK ANAM BOILS: As Palliative distribution goes berserk

Pandemonium struck between the village head of Edem Idim Ibesit at Oruk Anam local government and his subjects including the youths, men and women, elders at the council secretariat during the distribution of palliative sent to communities through the state government by the federal government.

The situation got worse when the expected forty bags of rice were released by the Local government to the Village head, Eteidung Aaron Jimmy Akpan. Contrary to the expectation of the people in the sharing of the items at the spot to avoid diversion, the village head was said to have confiscated the rice into his arranged vehicles to Whisk away, the action was confronted by the Youths as the atmosphere was tensed up until the Executive Chairman of Oruk Anam Local government area, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Frank intervened and ordered that the bags of rice be returned to the local government storage facility till further notice.

Findings by Century Newsfront have it that soon after they all left the council secretariat, the youths led by the youth president, Comrade Godwin Benson went to the palace of the village head requesting for their share of the palliative. Report has it that the village head, Eteidung Aaron Jimmy Akpan came out with dangerous weapons including well-sharpened matchet and a monday hammer and promised to annihilate them if they didn’t get out of his palace in the blink of an eye. The statement and action of the village head however angered the irate youth.

Century Newsfront also gathered from the grapevine that the Village head, Eteidung Aaron Jimmy Akpan is planning to report to security operative accusing the youths of their involvement in kidnap activities and violent crimes. Our source added that the village head had already whispered to two of his men to leave the village so as to report that they had been kidnapped by youths of the community.

Speaking to Century Newsfront, the youth president of Edem Idim Ibesit, Comrade Godwin Benson said that there was no violence whatsoever but were making their legitimate demands, “our outing today was not to cause any crisis but we were making our legitimate demand of the palliative sent to us by the Federal Government in which we are an integral part. I will not be surprised if there are cook-up stories of things that did not even happen, we are law-abiding citizens of this community”, he noted. All efforts to speak to the village head proved abortive as his 09052… and 08097… phone numbers rang severally but there was no response as of press time.

1) Empowerment:
About one month ago, one of the native sons of Edem Idim Ibesit, residing at ikot Abasi LGA by name, Mr. David Abraham Akpan brought in empowerment to the village. The Empowerment was said to be sponsored by a charity organization but directed and distributed by a man of God from Etim ekpo LGA.
On that day, Men and women, young and old were so much excited for what God had used our son, Mr. David Abraham Akpan to do for the masses in the community.

The village head, Chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan also expressed his excitement for the miraculous work of God for the people of Edem Idim Ibesit. He added that the good Lord should bless the charity organization and as well as the people of Edem Idim Ibesit.

The youth chairman, Comrade Godwin Ishmael Benson expressed a heartfelt and sincere gratitude to the charity organization and to the man of God for being faithful to deliver the foodstuffs to the people of Edem Idim Ibesit. He prayed the good Lord to bless them in abundance. The youth chairman,in his speech also urged every son and daughter of Edem Idim Ibesit to always make themselves available when needs arises.

2) Roofing of the village Hall:
A meeting was held at the town hall. Men and women, youths and Elders were in attendance. The agenda of the meeting was, how to complete the roofing project of the village Hall. Questions were asked from the people of Edem Idim Ibesit about the Cameron zinc which was purchased by the village for the roofing project of the village Hall. It was also explained and affirmed by witnesses that Cameron zinc were purchased for the roofing project of the village Hall. Our youth chairman explained to the audience that, two clan heads had been sent to chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan but he responded that the zinc were stolen by the youths during the crisis in the village.

In attempt to retrieve the zinc, some delegates were sent to Chief Aaron Jimmy Akpan, but the chief also explained sincerely to the delegates to that , the zinc were stolen by the youths during the crisis.

Now, the family heads, in collaboration with the youths council is calling upon every one to support the roofing project of the village Hall both in cash and in kind.

By the special grace of God, the roofing project have gotten to maximum standard and the completion will soon be done.
