I couldn't do a series on wrongful convictions without an interview with today's guests. Welcome Jason Flom and three-peat DIE-ALOGUE guest, Maggie Freleng!

In addition to their passion to help free the innocent, Maggie and Jason bring us staggering statistics around wrongful convictions and women in prison. These two understand the plights of the wrongfully convicted more than most and I hope you will listen, learn and be moved to action!

Thanks Jason and Maggie for killing the small talk!

What a journey. 11.5 years — the low end of the recommended 11-15 years. My source (a friend who is a financial crimes prosecutor) doubts she will serve the whole thing.

What happens when political corruption leads to a wrongful conviction? Unfortunately, that’s what unfolds in the podcast, Murder in Oregon, hosted and produced by today’s guest, Lauren Bright Pacheco.

Lauren is an Emmy award winning TV Producer who has parlayed her storytelling skills to podcasting. It’s in this medium that she discovered “audio activism” which has illuminated something I’ve been seeking for quite some time!

What happens to an exoneree after they are released? Let's find out as we welcome BACK today’s guest, Jeff Deskovic. A truly remarkable human, Jeff is an exoneree, an advocate for criminal justice reform, a lawyer, and the founder of the Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation.

Today he’s come back to help us understand what happens to an exoneree after their release. Listeners, prepare yourselves: it’s horrible. The better news is that Jeff is working tirelessly to change that and he gives us ways to join the cause. You don’t need to be rich, talented, or have a certain type of career- we can ALL do SOMETHING.

If you care about wrongful convictions, this conversation is a must listen. Please share! Resources listed below, including a link to Jeff’s Foundation’s patreon page.

I would encourage you to go back and listen to his first interview (which is two parts) on DIE-ALOGUE where Jeff shares his practically unbelievable story. He was wrongfully convicted of the r**e and murder of Angela Correa, only to be exonerated (on the grounds of ACTUAL innocence) 16 years later.

Listen to Jeff’s 1st interview on DIE-ALOGUE here:

Let’s spook it up a little since it’s Halloween week! Christine Schiefer is here to talk about her podcast, ‘And That’s Why We Drink,’ and the book she co-wrote with her show co-host, Em Schulz; ’A Haunted Road Atlas: Sinister Stops, Dangerous Destinations, and True Crime Tales.’

From how she viewed true crime as a girl, to whether or not she believes in ghosts today, Christine kills the small talk and reveals what it’s like behind the scenes of her true crime meets paranormal podcast.

What does your safety look like? Trauma and s*x education expert, Jimanekia Eborn, takes this question and allows victims and survivors to answer it for themselves.

Today we are taking a more intimate, less legislative/less legal look at consent. My guest, Jiamekia Eborn is the perfect person to help us do just that.

Jimanekia, a self- entitled TRAUMA QUEEN, is no stranger to the world of trauma, crime and consent. Jimanekia shares how she wanted to help others impacted by trauma, but the way in which she ended up doing that was completely different from her original plan.

This is a lively, candid, beautiful conversation, and I can't wait to hear what you think!
