FGR037: Woodland Crypt - “Moss Grows on the Tomb of a Conqueror”

A warm welcome to the wonderful Woodland Crypt! With his album “Moss Grows on the Tomb of a Conqueror” we are transported to a verdant woodland—mystery and magic abound whilst we stare at our feet and wander paths snaking through a dark forest. This album is deeply meditative and is, indeed, meant for forest wanderings and staring in wonder at the moss. We are honored to welcome back this artist after the glorious release he had with his project Oakfather on our last Winter batch.

FGR036: Druad - “Eternity Crowns the Wanderer”

After a fantastic debut in 2018, Druad returns with “Eternity Crowns the Wanderer”, an epic fantasy backdrop to forest wanderings. Beautiful neoclassical textures with a timelessly nostalgic tone to it—this is a recording to daydream to. There is something meditative to this album, and it will definitely transport you to other worlds. We are honored to welcome Druad to the Fableglade roster!

FGR035: Wraithguard - “Beneath Ageless Sands”
Limited to 100 tapes. Comes out in our Spring Harvest batch on Sunday, March 20th at 4pm Mountain time.

Wraithguard is an artist that caught our attention with the release that our compatriot, Gondolin Records, did of the “Knave” albums. The awe inspiring compositions, melodies that waver throughout the record, and the narrative driven atmosphere of this project is something truly magical. Since the release of Knave, this artist has put out two other releases, “Outlander” and this glorious album, “Beneath Ageless Sands”. With “Beneath Ageless Sands” we are presented with, in the artist’s words, “...the story of an adventurer who seeks to journey to the Otherworlds to unravel the mysteries of the universe and to find a better life for his people. He ventures to a portal located in the ruins of an ancient dungeon buried beneath desert sands.” This album is a true adventure–inexplicable in a way. This is one to be experienced and listened to with full attention, and with the accompaniment of the story enclosed. We are honored to present this album as it is meant to be: on cassette with the full story outlined in the inside of the j-card. And we are honored to forge this connection with this amazing artist–a connection that shall continue with a release of “Outlander” later this year.

Another seasonal cycle comes ‘round and the winter welcomes us into its cold embrace. We bring yet another wintry offering, from the gladekeeper themself, Snowspire. Droning winter synth that embodies sorrow, solitude, and introspection, “As if Wandering in a Dream…” serves as a beautiful backdrop to snowy wanderings, quiet evenings, or gazing out the window as a snowstorm approaches. Fableglade offers a warm welcome to an artist that is quite a bit different from our usual catalog yet feels perfectly at home among the glade. “Marble Acres” is best described, and self-proclaimed, as “ghost town folk”. This music is utterly introspective, cold, desolate, and beautiful while utilizing the minimal tools of guitar and voice. And despite being a bit different from the usual fantasy collection we offer, this album will certainly be cherished by those who seek some meditative and melancholy songs for the fireside this winter.

FGR032: Oakfather - “Eikfǫðurins Seiðar”

Oakfather is a project that gained our attention immediately, being pure, nature worship, folk influenced dungeon synth music. This project is delving deep into something truly special, tapping into the core of ourselves and our innate connection to the natural world. Utilizing a sound and palette similar to notable and highly praised nordic music, Oakfather is a powerfully spiritual ode to nature sans any unfortunately oft associated hateful ideologies. Collecting both “Eikfǫðurins Seiðar” and the following EP, “Haustsblót”, this tape serves as a perfect reminder of the glory of the natural world, our place within it, and importance of protecting it--and, indeed, is perfect for the introspection of yule and wintry darkness.

FGR031: Sidereal Fortress - “Racconti del Focolare (I & II)”

Winter is, perhaps, one of the most nostalgic times for many--conjuring memories of storytelling, folklore, magic & wonder, all by a campfire with warm drink in hand. This is precisely the atmosphere which we would say is achieved across the two “Racconti del Focolare'' albums from Sidereal Fortress. Being another Fableglade alumni, with the Nuovaera album from last year, as well as having been featured on numerous highly respected labels in the worlds of dungeon and fantasy synth music, we are honored that Sidereal Fortress reached out to us to release this collection of music. This album, featuring both volumes of the most wintry music in the impressive Sidereal Fortress catalog, is one of pure nostalgia and introspection. Perfect as a backdrop a yuletide gathering, or for wandering about in the snow.

A dear friend of ours here at Fableglade returns to the glade with a different project! After his dungeontroll release last year, we were eager to bring the mighty artist behind the Serpent’s Sword Records back to present a collection of the two albums--”Ancient Magic of the Forest” and “Forest Lullabies”--by Arthel. Being perhaps one of the most fitting projects for Fableglade under the prolific banner of Serpent’s Sword Records, this collection is a beautiful and magical piece of work that takes its listener to verdant places where the trees are alive and Faeries sing from the branches. We meander through the most wondrous melodies of flutes and strings as the faint sounds of streams and birds dance on the periphery, guiding us on a journey through deep magical woodlands. As the days turn cold and snowy here in the glade, this recording reminds us of warmer days.

With this Winter batch, we are going to try something out. We have a number of incredibly wonderful supporters who like to get everything we release on each batch. So starting on this Winter batch, we will offer the option of a full bundle of all 5 tapes as a single merch item, to ease the process of purchasing for you all. This is indeed an experiment that we want to try out, and those of you who go about this: we definitely want to hear your feedback on this! The full harvest bundle will be limited to 15. If it is a success, this will be an option on all batches moving forward. Unfortunately, the way Bandcamp works is that these kinds of bundles cannot be tied to all of the digital albums... thus it will be an entirely severed merch item and we will email all of the download codes to those of you who purchase the bundle.

Additionally, we will be announcing a restock day fairly soon. This will include some leftover copies of tapes from this year as well as a couple of tapes from last year. These are the final copies of many of these and the supplies are extremely limited. We will try to give decent forewarning so that there is a good possibility for you to grab a copy of what you want. This restock will also include some distro copies of two items which we have been meaning to get into the store for some time now. And to be clear, the aforementioned bundle option will not be available for the restock.

We are still awaiting the arrival of the Autumn tapes, after which we have to number them all and get everything packed and sent out. Thanks for bearing with us through the delays, everyone. FGR029: Draconic Regicide - “Kingslayer”

Fableglade welcomes “Kingslayer”, an album by Draconic Regicide, to the Fableglade collection. Building an atmosphere based on an oppressed people and, subsequently, their liberation from a tyrant king, this is a brooding ambient epic in two parts. Draconic Regicide takes the time to build a mood, in a deeply meditative way, that ultimately results in catharsis for its listeners. Utilizing reverb laden synths, heavy drum textures with martial-like passages, subterranean rumbles, and throat singing, the music drips with atmosphere here. Following a story written by the artist, this album is highly narrative driven, atmospheric, emotional, and epic. We are proud to present it here, this autumn, for these colder days require reading a good story and listening to good tapes. This tape will feature the story, in full, to follow along as you are taken on a journey of purely epic dragon ambience.

FGR028: Abysa - “Searemony”

There are few places as greatly mysterious or enchanting as the vast oceans that cover so much of the planet. The immense beauty, the vastness, the unexplored places, the deep water critters--these are all inspirations for the phenomenal Abysa. An Argentian project from the mastermind Uxoria, the artist behind Criptadel, Estantigua, and a handful of others, he is no stranger to atmosphere. With Abysa, we are met with aquatic pads and vast, oceanic synths that are almost orchestral at times. “Searemony” is beautifully enchanting and drags you deep into uncharted waters, and explores some of Earth’s most magical places. We hope this might bring a new understanding of, or perhaps reverence for, the ocean… Join us in a searemonial tranquility.

FGR027: Sprites of the Wood - “Faeries - I”

Deep in the glade, if you listen closely, you might hear the songs of faeries or the voices of sprites. Here, among the trees, magic might perhaps be possible. Fableglade welcomes Sprites of the Wood to the roster, with the album “Faeries - I”. Sprites of the Wood has been a busy project, though looming quietly, putting out albums with Neverwood Records and High Mage, and even making an appearance at the legendary streamed Northeast Dungeon Siege earlier this year! This project has piqued our interest from the beginning, channeling sounds that transport you to magical, verdant places. Showing notable inspirations on its sleeve, yet maintaining a signature sound, Sprites of the Wood conjures nostalgic atmospheres that take you places. This is a gorgeous album, and one in which we hope will bring you to believe that magic is indeed possible.
