We need your support in the battle over Bannockburn! We have to preserve this historic location, which is under threat from proposed developments that will destroy one of the last remaining areas of open landscape on which this significant battle took place in 1314.

Such an amazing place, i hope they find some more incredible artifacts!

The Vindolanda excavations started today with a new research project that focuses on the last remaining turfed area within the boundaries of the last stone fort at Vindolanda.

Day 1 is now done and as a result we have slightly less turf in this area! We hope our Period 1 Vindolanda team of volunteers have a fabulous fortnight with us.

Voting is now open for Archaeologist of the Year 2024 and we are delighted that the Vindolanda Trust CEO and Director of Excavations Dr Andrew Birley is one of the nominees in these awards by Current Archaeology.

The public will decide who wins the category, please show your support and give him your vote!

That’s the story we have so far but Philippa Langley’s new book Princes in The Tower goes in search of new evidence in archives across Europe that may shed some new light on the story and give us a completely different tale to the one that a lot of people agree on.
