Inheriting his family’s business acumen, 34-year-old Pranshul Yadav ventured into a path of his own in 2017 with Frozen Bottle, a milkshake and frozen desserts chain, after a successful stint in auto major Honda.

"Although I had readymade options to carry my life forward, I was destined to start a business of my own," says Yadav who was born in the small town of Hissar in Haryana, but carved out his dream in the South Indian city of Bengaluru, along with his partner Arun Suvarna.

What began as a five-member single outlet at Koramangala (in Bengaluru) on 22 May 2017, is now a 107-outlet chain with more than 640 employees and a nationwide footprint with stores spread out across Karnataka (27), Maharashtra (28), Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana and Gujarat.

The bootstrapped venture started with Rs 1 lakh – each partner contributed Rs 50,000 - clocked a turnover of Rs 40 crore in FY 2018 -19

Yadav, who holds a degree in electronics engineering from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology and an MBA from FORE School of Business, spent his early years in Hissar, before landing in Bengaluru as Manager, Dealer Development, with Honda.

His mother, Roshini Yadav, is a housewife and his father, Vijay Yadav, started his career with brick production and then entered the construction business by sheer dint of hard work and succeeded in it.

The young Yadav, too, wanted to achieve something in life through hard work. So he took up the job with Honda in Bengaluru, where he met Suverna, a 46-year-old businessman who was primarily into real estate. The duo initially took franchises of Cream Stone, a well-known ice-cream chain before deciding to venture on their own.Yadav’s job as dealer development for three years gave him a wide exposure on the nation’s geography and he gained immense knowledge of the culture and food habits of the different regions in the country.

As the job took him from state to state and street to street, he realised that beverages are an essential part of Indian culture. He found that milk-based beverages like lassi and countless flavours of ice cream were among those that dominated the scene.

Which came first: chicken, or the egg? Well, we can’t solve that old dilemma but this startup surely started to fill the demand and supply gap. We have with us is Bihar-based startup, Eggoz.

Eggoz was founded by the IIT-Kharagpur friend’s group of Abhishek Negi, Uttam Kumar, Aditya Singh, and Pankaj Pandey in 2017. It produces and sells brown, white, and Nutra eggs in areas like MP, UP, and Bihar.

It provides fresh farm-produced eggs to every household by connecting many farmers at the same place. To achieve these better quality eggs they plan the bird meals in a way that they are nutritionally balanced, pure veg, and herbal feed.

The company has built a farmer-friendly app so that they can enter data about their farm and in case of need can contact doctors for infected or sick chic. So far it has helped farmers to increase their income by 50%.

In Eggoz eggs are UV sanitized in the units, packed, stamped, and sent for selling within 36 hours of laying. The freshness of the produce is maintained uniquely, Eggoz clears the stock shelves from stores if eggs are not sold within 3 working days.

Aditya said, “our main priority is to add nutritional values to the meal. The eggs produced have values like proteins Omega 3 fatty acid and vitamins like B12, D, and so on. The whole idea is to help people lead a healthy life”.

The company claims to have clocked Rs 7.6 crore revenue in FY20 and Rs 12 crore in FY21.

Now, in the line is an expansion to new geographies and launch more value-added products. For this, the founders are even planning to raise some funds shortly.

Wanting to replace conventional tractors and the problems they cause, Mr Kaustubh Dondhe founded Auto Nxt to revolutionise the agriculture field

Automation has come a long way, from watches that kept track of time, steam engines that powered numerous boats to autonomous robots that assemble your automated watches. Automation is a technology that speaks about the ingenuity of the human mind to harness power without needing to be supervised.

And empowering people with this technology is what AutoNxt Automation, a start-up from Mumbai, is aiming to achieve.
Auto Nxt was started in 2016 by Mr Kaustubh Dhonde. Backed by an experienced and dynamic team of over a dozen engineers, Auto Nxt is set to revolutionise the field of automation using disruptive technologies.

Auto Nxt’s flagship innovation is the self-driving tractor that uses no fuel at all! The battery-powered contraption is targeted to redefine the agricultural industry.

The concept behind the tractor has a very humble beginning. Mr Kaustubh used to visit his native place in Wai, Maharashtra, during his years as an engineering student. It was here that he saw his relative selling away his tractor because of his inability to afford the year-long maintenance and the health problems it was causing. Mr Kaustubh was determined to change the scene.

Talking to The Better India, CEO of team Auto Nxt, Mr Kaustubh Dhonde says, “While the high maintenance has been an accepted trait of diesel tractors, farmers undergo serious health problems which were due to the heavy vibrations caused by diesel tractors. Hence, it struck us that an electric vehicle shall be the way and an autonomous mode for it shall be the perfect solution.”

Conventional tractors have a high operational cost. Further, its efficiency is determined by the skill of the tractor driver. So finding skilled labour for driving tractors is not easy in many parts of India.
