Amaury Michel was born in Manhattan. After a few years my parents moved my brother and I to the Bronx. This is where I met my first group of friends who ended up being a major part of the Hip-Hop culture. I was heavily into graffiti during my teen years, and a huge hip hop head. I moved to Yonkers in 1990 and attended Gorton HS. This is where I met three cool classmates named, Jason, Sean, and David. (The Lox to you). I was really into dancing back then, I would leave HS, jump on the bus, then hop the 1 train where I was a regular dancer on MTV’s show, “The Grind”. As I got into my 20s the music business came calling. My first project I put together featured Melle Mel, Kool Keith, Godfather Don, and Raw Breed, that was my Bronx-Yonkers connection. I then linked up with Ruff Ryders in the mid-90s and managed the producer, “Shok”. I brought the “Slippin” record to Double R, DMX did his magic, and what do you know, my first hit record! Since then I’ve been blessed to have credits on some great music and amazing artists such as, The Lox, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, the late Big Pun, Nate Dogg, and many more. Also movie soundtracks such as, Training Day and Fast & Furious 2. I’m super hype about this podcast, it’s gonna be fresh!
