What a lovely feature of Lime House Caribbean by the folks at SethLui.com! Like they say, "There’s no better way to end a meal than with a sweet treat, like Lime House Caribbean’s homemade Chocolate Mousse" — we couldn't agree more.

The launch of the special collaboration between Goh Beng Kwan and Photo Phactory — a series of four trays featuring the art works of the Cultural Medallion artist from the 1950s to 1970s.

We worked with ARTAF, who are the exclusive representation of the artist, on messaging and communications in the lead-up to this launch.

This is just one of a few things that we have in the pipeline with the artist, and look forward to what is to come!

THE MASTER COLLECTION: Goh Beng Kwan x Photo Phactory

Join us for an exclusive launch between Cultural Medallion winner Goh Beng Kwan and Photo Phactory as they team up on an exclusive tray collection featuring four masterpieces by the acclaimed pioneer artist.

Paying homage to the modern art of Singapore, The Master Collection: Goh Beng Kwan and Photo Phactory is a special collaboration that integrates Goh’s artistic style with everyday life. Each of the masterpieces featured are revitalised and transposed onto decorative trays with bold colour palettes, inviting a fresh look at Goh’s signature works from the comforts of your home.

The artworks featured in this tray collection are from his early works in the 1950s to 70s, and were specially selected by Goh himself. This period combines Goh’s formative years in Singapore, revolving around his studies under artists like Chen Wen Hsi, consolidating the Nanyang-phase of his paintings, and his subsequent studies in New York that started his self-reflexive examination of his own cultural identity in America. 'Still Life' in particular, holds special memories for Goh as it was created during his mentorship under Chen Wen Hsi who significantly shaped the early stages of Goh’s artistic development. His first watercolour work, 'Still Life', displays his ability to play with geometric forms, both circular and rectangular, to depict daily life objects in a semi-abstract style.

“These are some of the most admired paintings of Goh Beng Kwan that also hold special memories for him. But there is only one of each physical artwork,” says Hazeleen Goh, daughter and studio manager for Goh Beng Kwan and founder of ARTAF, an art platform with the mission to connect Singapore’s earliest generations of artists with the new generation of art collectors. “We believe that art is meant to be shared and enjoyed by as many people as possible, as it has the ability to draw everyone closer. This collection enables these four rare artworks to come to life in a refreshing, new way. In this elegantly functional form, they are able to connect with more people around the world - in the comfort of their homes.”

These trays will be launched exclusively at Design Orchard from 24 February 2022. There will be a special “Meet the artist” session on 26 and 27 February, where attendees can also engage in a dialogue session with Goh Beng Kwan as he gives insights to his artistic practice and the inspiration behind the artworks of this collection. Attendees will also be able to enjoy an exclusive viewing of the rare artworks during the launch, with the exception of 'Pro Op' that remains in the private collection of United Overseas Bank.
