Sometimes you just need someone to tell you where to start...

If you're someone who wants to share your music effectively and use social media as one of your tools to do that, start here:

1. Describe (in hilarious detail) your "dream fan." Even if it feels cringey just to say the word "fan!" Throw the idea that your music is for "everyone" out the window, you weirdo. 😉 Get super specific, and don't worry, a wider audience will be automatically attracted too!
2. Brainstorm content topics! Planning ahead makes a huge difference and will save you so much time and energy. No more sitting in front of your phone, scrolling through your camera reel, wondering what you could possibly post and feeling inauthentic while doing so...
3. Decide how often you can post - be realistic. Like, actually realistic. Platforms tend to love it when you post regularly at specific times/days, so use this to your advantage.
4. Set yourself a lil monthly date to plan and create your "content" (did you just throw up a little from reading the word content too?)
5. If NOTHING ELSE, just engage with people on the account! But like... like a a normal person, not a weird manipulatey weirdo. These are real people on the other side of the phone. (Well... some of them are bots I guess... but hopefully you get the point.) So show up in your stories, who your face if you can, reply to comments and messages, and build a sense of community! Why not!

Keep in mind that there's no 1 magic solution for effective marketing on social media, and the platforms are always evolving.

And above all... be kind to yourself! Honour your boundaries with social media, and take time for mindfulness with and without tech.

✨ Timers are your friend. Set a timer for your tasks and when the timer is done - you're free!
🌿 Glamorize your social media tasks! Light a candle, make a list, have a treat and a cup of tea.
✨ It's ok to take breaks.

So you don't want to be inauthentic and fake on social media? FAIR. Me either. ✅

My answer to the question "𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐤𝐞?" is pretty simple: 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘬𝘦!

🙅‍♀️ Don't pretend to be someone you're not. Go with an aesthetic that feels true to you. Make a posting schedule and share content that has actual value to your audience.

Treat your followers as community, as friends you might meet up with for coffee, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦.

💫 𝟑 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬...💫

1️⃣ Set a timer for 5 minutes, close your eyes, and breathe mindfully before you get to work on planning your content.

2️⃣ Make sure you take breaks while working on your content! Set a timer if you need to - I like the pomadoro technique, which is 25 mins on, 5 mins off (on a break), and repeats 4 times before you take a longer break. It totally makes me more productive and effective!

3️⃣ Set an intention when you're intentionally engaging on your social media. Try something like "I am full of love," or "my work makes a difference," or "I am open to connecting" and see how this changes the way you engage!
