SUSPECTS BEHIND SIAYA VIOLENCE IN CUSTODY
Five suspects are currently in custody for being part of a gang that vandalized and set property on fire during last Thursday’s illegal demonstrations in Siaya County.
Michael Ochieng, Phelix Omondi, Elly Wambani, Julius Odiaga and Godwin Omollo Ochieng, were arrested today following intelligence leads and exhibits including iron sheets and window grills recovered.
The gang of around 1000 people had engaged police officers in running battles, before barricading the road leading to the Siaya UDA office and set it on fire after vandalizing it.
Armed with crude weapons, projectiles and petrol bombs, the thugs turned on the police officers who were responding to the violence and seriously injured five of them. Two police vehicles were also damaged during the incident.
The five are currently in custody as appropriate charges are being prepared, before arraigning the suspects in court tomorrow morning.

NAIROBI:
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula criticizes the Supreme Court over its ruling on LGBTQ registration.
This comes after the Supreme Court on friday, ruled that Kenyan authorities were wrong to ban the community from registering a rights organisation
Wetangula says, Kenya is deeply religious. Each individual and public institution has a duty to uphold, defend and protect public morals. The Supreme Court pronouncement may lead to unintended and unhelpful consequences.
The statement by Wetangula comes a day after AG Justin Muturi announced that he will challenge the Supreme Court ruling allowing the registration of LGBTQ as Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
The church on its part has vehemently disagreed with the ruling stating that it was eroding the moral fibre of the country.
Elsewhere, Homa Bay Town MP George Peter Kaluma has already stated that he will table a bill in parliament criminalising h0m0s3xuality.

Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma drafts a Bill that will see Homosexuality and its promotion criminalised and punished in Kenya.
The proposed bill further consolidate all existing laws relating to unnatural sexual acts and increase the penalties for those convicted to promoting or engaging the act to imprisonment for life.
Should the bill pass in our National Assembly, Engaging Unnatural sexual acts will lead to life imprisonment.

A three-Day-old baby boy has been found abandoned next to a tea farm in Kipngeno area, Silibwet township Ward of Bomet Central Sub County.
The baby was discovered by residents who were working in a tea farm after hearing the baby crying by the tea plantation.
The Baby boy Carefully wrapped in a warm and bright coloured shawl was taken to Silibwet police station and later referred to Tenwek mission Hospital for medications.

PRESIDENT RUTO CHAIRS FIRST PAPERLESS CABINET
President William Samoei Ruto on Tuesday chaired the first paperless Cabinet meeting, kicking off a major government digitisation drive.
Cabinet Secretaries arrived at State House, Nairobi, without the traditional bulky folders, large briefcases and huge files.
In the Cabinet room, they found secured portable digital devices interconnected and attached to their files, memos and a secure notebook to assist them take notes in the meeting without leaving the devices.
The bold move is expected to significantly reduce the cost of printing and enhance security of Cabinet records.
President Ruto said the digitisation of cabinet meetings was a clear signal that the Government was going digital.
He said it will enhance service delivery by fostering efficiency and eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy in government.
