Why is Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers being overlooked in the convo?

The Gov. Evers Resume:

Loyal Democrat. Second term Governor. Overall popular in his state. Could help deliver Wisconsin, a crucial swing state currently leaning Trump. Public servant career dedicated to education. Been fighting Republican hardliners tooth and nail. Defeated incumbent Governor Scott Walker. Midwest Geographic and Demographic advantages. Strong on abortion, women’s issues. Not controversial.

And he likes ice cream.

Negatives: Low key. Little bit of a slow burn in a fast turn candidacy. No established national Democratic fanbase. Can only help deliver 10 Electoral College votes. Unlikely to pursue a “3rd term” a la Biden and George H. W. Bush. Would put the Wisconsin Governorship at risk.

While Gov. Evers is an extreme long shot for VP, he would seem to be shoe-in as a cabinet secretary, especially for the Department of Education.

Strategically, it seems essential for to choose VP Harris for campaign finance fluidity. Harris can access all funds under the Biden-Harris candidacy. A different candidate would NOT have access to those funds.

Democrats hope that a new name at the top of the ticket will rejuvenate support in opposition to who seemed poised to run away with the race.

That said, this swap at the top of the ticket could lead to immense squabbling and a potential power struggle during the 2024 Democratic Convention or leading up to it over the next month.

Wisconsin is pretty fiscally sound. However, at the federal level, there haven’t been enough Golden Fleeces to cover every deserving recipient. Fiscal mismanagement has led to a deficit of over $34 Trillion at the federal level.

After trading Jrue Holiday into a position to win an NBA Championship while the Bucks roster seemed old, injured, and discombobulated it would only seem natural that some roster tweaks might be in order.

Giannis is still undeniably king of the hill and the cornerstone of the franchise.

While rumors have swirled that Damian Lillard is unhappy in Milwaukee and eager to leave, he claims he just wants to get to work. Lillard would fetch a pile of draft picks and/or other key players. It is hard to believe ownership would be ready to give up on such a high profile trade without giving it a full season (especially because so far the clear winner of the Jrue Holiday trade is Jrue Holiday).

It’d be nice if our 2 major political parties would get the memo (eh-hem and ) and give us some non-geriatric candidates in 2028!

While memories of when black and white television was brand new could be misconstrued as experience, it would perhaps be more useful to the future of our country if we had a major party candidate with a vision for the future.

Instead, between and we have two candidates who aren’t even certain they will live long enough to see the future.

Young people and people who are older but not super old have ideas too! Maybe it’s time for the baby boomers to pass the torch before they spend all the money.

Maybe America will get its act together and start running itself as effectively as the Green Bay Packers! Hope we live to see it.

Did he say it? Was it taken out of context?

Were you not there but strangely know for sure?

Allegedly, Donald Trump said in the presence of Republican members of the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation that “Milwaukee, where we have our convention, is a horrible city.”

Wisconsin Republicans who were present said the statement was in reference to crime or election management issues.

But MANY Milwaukee lovers and Trump detesters are insistent that Donald Trump said that Milwaukee itself is horrible.

Of course, this alleged slight to a great Wisconsin city comes just weeks before Milwaukee is to host the Republican National Convention. Indeed, GOP convention staff have started moving into the to begin assembling the event.

Even if taken completely in context, and truly heartfelt, aren’t there a couple more important news stories we could be obsessing over today?

Anxious to see the next round of campaign fundraising numbers in 2024.

So far in 2024 is getting clobbered by in funding!!! A trend that has carried over from 2023.

Democrats were heavily dependent on liberal mega-donor Reid Hoffman who donated $2 Million in January 2024.

Leaving that aside, Democrats have had the upper hand in fundraising in Wisconsin.

It will be interesting to see if Biden-Trump spending shifts the overall left-right spend through the final 5 months of Election 2024.

Home Alone House with Wisconsin Badgers decor??? 🦡❤️🏈

The iconic house made famous in the 1990 Christmas classic movie "Home Alone" recently hit the market and it appears the selling resident has a connection to the Wisconsin Badgers, as the home is filled with Wisconsin sports memorabilia, including a custom Wisconsin basketball court.

The exterior of the house, located at 671 Lincoln Ave. in Winnetka, Illinois, was used as the McCallister's family home in "Home Alone" and the 1992 sequel "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.” Most of the indoor scenes were shot on a soundstage, however, some of the house's interior did make it into the films. According to the listing, the redbrick Georgian home was built in 1921 and features 9,126-square feet of living space with four fireplaces, five bedrooms, and six bathrooms, as well as an outdoor and indoor hot tub. Fully renovated and expanded in 2018, other additions to the home include a movie theater, two laundry rooms and a fully-equipped gym.

Interestingly, the home’s indoor basketball court features decals on the wall of former Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon and quarterback Russell Wilson. The court itself, along with a shooting machine, are also adorned with Badgers logos. Additionally, the house proudly displays framed jerseys of UW-Madison running back Jonathan Taylor and point guard Brad Davison, along with prints representing parts of Madison and collages of historic Badgers football programs in the home’s office area.

The property last sold in 2012 for $1.59 million, according to real estate marketplace Zillow. The home was listed for sale for $5.25 million on May 25 and already has a contingent offer.

Trump endorses Tony Wied for the Wisconsin 8th Congressional District seat being abandoned by .

Never one to avoid beating a dead horse and burn bridges at the same time, Trump also accused Primary candidates for the seat, Roger Roth, of being a and a “clone” of Paul Ryan.

FYI - That’s an insult on both fronts coming from Trump.

Ironically, Trump endorsed Roger Roth when he ran for Lt. Gov. with Tim Michels WAY BACK in 2022.

No mention of another candidate State Senator Andre Jacques.

Separately, Trump orbiter and Wisconsin-native has announced he will NOT seek the 8th Congressional seat which is a bit of an unexpected surprise.
