EPIGNOSIS
(The Exact, Precise and Intimate Knowledge of God)

TO THE BIBLE
2 Peter 1:3 RSV “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.”

LET’S TALK
The word “knowledge” in the verse above is the Greek “epignosis,” and it means exact or precise knowledge; full knowledge with intimacy. It means full comprehension, recognition, or perception; to become fully acquainted with God. This is the knowledge the Lord seeks for His children to have of Him. We’ve been called to glory and virtue; that’s the life of glory, honour, dignity and excellence, and this life works in you through your knowledge—“epignosis” —of Him.

SPECIAL GIFT*❤️...

The Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, shows us how to get this knowledge of God in His prayer for the Church: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened…” (Ephesians 1:17-18). What does this mean?

He’s saying that as you get to know God through this kind of special relationship or acquaintance, He’ll grant you insight into reality. Yes, God has appointed you to a life of honour, dignity, and excellence, but as you learn about Him, as you meditate on the Word, secrets about this life and how to walk in the reality of it are unveiled to you. It reminds me of yet another powerful truth in 2 Peter 1:2: “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord” (KJV). Again, the word translated knowledge here is “epignosis.” So, in addition to a life of honour, dignity, and excellence, grace and peace can be multiplied in your life as you meditate on the Word of God.

LET’S TALK
Have you ever seen a traffic police officer pleading with road users to comply with traffic rules? No, he doesn’t beg people to obey; all he does is lift his hands, and give the signals, and they’re obeyed. In reality, it’s not the man who’s being obeyed, but the authority backing him.

The confidence you exude depends on the authority that’s back of you. Jesus said, “…I have been given all authority (not some) in heaven and on earth!” (Matthew 28:18 CEV). He’s the only person in the entire universe ever to have made such audacious declarations! None of the religious leaders that walked this earth before, or after Him, could dare speak with such authority and audacity.

Now, think about this: Jesus Christ—the King of kings and Lord of lords—has given you His authority. Just imagine the magnitude of power you wield, having been sent in His Name and with His authority, to disciple all nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19).

You’re not serving a dead Lord, but One who was raised from the dead and declared by God to be His Son with power (Romans 1:4). He’s got all authority in heaven, on earth, and under the earth! So never be ashamed of Him; always be quick to identify with Him and speak of Him. Proclaim His Name boldly everywhere you go!

SPEAK:
I’m no ordinary person. I’ve been sent to preach the Gospel to everyone with all authority and power. Therefore, I walk in dominion everywhere I go today, speaking boldly of Him because I know who He is. As He is, so am I in this world!

ACT:
Stand before a mirror and say to yourself, “The Greater One lives in me. I’m backed by all divine authority!”

30TH JULY.

I affirm that the Word is in my heart, working on my mind and giving me the right mindset. I move with the speed and urgency of the Spirit, guided by divine wisdom in leading many to righteousness. I receive increased grace and ability to fulfil the ministry of reconciliation to those in my world, and in the regions beyond. My hands are filled with the blessings of the Lord. Anyone I touch surely must be blessed; anything I do is amplified by the Spirit of God. I am in God’s place for my life and the Spirit of God has granted me understanding and insight into His will, purpose, and plans as I study and meditate on the Word.

My heart is flooded with wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Kuna wakati umejikuta ukipita katika kipindi kigumu sana kwenye masomo,kwenye afya yako,kwenye uchumi n.k.Hali ya maisha imekuwa ngumu sana kila ukiwatazama marafiki na ndugu wakupe msaada hakuna anayejitokeza na ukajikuta unabaki peke yako unaumia,unalia kwa uchungu.

Mwingine ndoa yake ipo kwa wakati mgumu kwa muda mrefu kila siku na malumbano tu,hakuna maelewano,muda mwingine unatishiwa kufukuzwa kwasababu zisizo eleweka na moyo wako umekata tamaa kabisa lakini leo lipo tumaini.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES FRIDAY 26TH MARCH.

HE DIDN'T ASK US TO PRAY IN VAIN

Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Prayer can be very effective, and prayer can be mere religion. There're people who don't expect answers when they pray. To them, prayer is part of their religiosity. But God never told us to pray for nothing. Prayer is real communication; you're actually talking to someone that's listening to you, and ready to answer you.

Here's another beautiful thing about the Lord: He knows what's in your heart even before you ask Him. Before you pray. He knows what you'd say to Him. Why then does He expect you to pray? It's because God operates in legality; in spite of the fact that He loves you. He operates with rules, laws that He's put in place. The Bible tells us that He gave the earth to human beings to live in and to run it. Thus. He requires their invitation to intervene in their circumstances.

For instance, if you're paying your rent duly, your landlord can't just walk into your apartment because he owns the house; that'll be illegal, because you're the custodian of the apartment; he has to come at your invitation. That's the way it is with God. We're custodians of the earth. He needs our invitation to intervene in the affairs of men.

When you get in trouble or you don't know what to do about a particular situation and you require His intervention, you have to ask for it, even though He sees what's going on. Take for instance the way He related with the Children of Israel; in Ezekiel 36, He outlined several blessings for them. But in the 37th verse, He said, "Thus saith the Lord GOD, I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock (Ezekiel 36:37). That's God dealing in His legality.

So, through prayers, you convey your mind, feelings, emotions and supplications to God, while He responds with answers. As you pray, especially in other tongues, the Holy Spirit puts words in your mouth, sanctified words that you can speak to God, to cause changes in your world.

Prayer holds an important place in the life of a Christian. Amongst other glorious benefits and blessings, prayer assures God's protection over you; your insecurity disappears and you receive courage to tackle whatever comes against you in this life. So as admonished in our theme verse, pray without ceasing. Praise God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for always delighting to hear and answer my prayers. Even now. I pray that righteousness is poured out upon the nations, producing salvation everywhere. Thank you for your Spirit of grace working on men's hearts to be receptive, more than ever before, to the Gospel, in Jesus' Name.
