Hey y’all it’s Ali MF Ling,

I apologize for not giving you all another episode when I said I would. It’s been hard staying focused especially when I’ve been triggered by things out of my control lately. Domestic violence is everywhere. I can be at the Laundromat and overhear the signs and my chest tightens. I know not everyone’s issue is mine but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t affect me. Over all I’m working on correcting this and rather then hiding in my shell and not continuing production I’ve decided to go ahead and share this phase of my journey for episode 3.

I also ask that if you have any experiences/words of advice/ questions in or around this topic you comment them below as I’d love to share your feedback live on air. I may be an ‘educator’ to the misinformed but just like you, I’m a survivor. I still feel the side affects of my trauma & am slowly overcoming them day by day. This is why I created this platform. I think it’s important to show that I’m still just as vulnerable.

That’s almost always all it took. I could have easily walked out the door but at what cost? Between the text messages, the pop ups, the threats, and often times the physical abuse- words were almost always sufficient. They were the portal between a side of him that I dreaded to see so, appeasing his sickening desire to control me was just that easy for him.”

This one goes out to all the ladies & gents who are still recovering from the trauma they faced. We hope this year taught you that you may be out of it but you aren’t invincible. It’s perfectly fine to feel weak, vulnerable and human. We may hold our heads high and know what we will & will not tolerate moving forward but we are allowed feel. We hope that this year you learned to accept that you may have been a victim but have also accepted that you will always be a survivor; a warrior; the victor.
