🇪🇦 Sandy Candy ya se había dejado ver bastante por el bar, pero aún no había actuado. Tenía fama de ser uno de los mejores locales para música en directo y la voz humana no sintética hace tiempo era una rareza así que la expectación era máxima. Sandy superó claramente las expectativas, con una puesta en escena no vista hace tiempo que dejó al personal estupefacto.

PD: estas escenas me han costado muchísimo, tanto que han estado muchísimo tiempo en barbecho, hasta que he conseguido desarrollar el montaje que quería (técnica incluída), ayudado con un fondo 3D renderizado a medida. La foto no tiene ningún tipo de IA. Y meritazo de Susi que se metió genial en el papel! :D

🇬🇧 Sandy Candy had already been around the bar quite a bit, but hadn't performed yet. It was known as one of the best venues for live music and non-synthetic human voices had long been a rarity, so the expectation was high. Sandy clearly exceeded expectations, with a staging not seen in a long time that left the people stunned.

PS: these scenes have been a pain to create, so much so that they have been left abandoned for a long time, until I got the right set-up and skills, helped by a custom-rendered 3D background. The photo has no AI whatsoever. Susi got into the role perfectly! :D

🇪🇦 Como decíamos, muchos bares estaban controlados por alguna banda o servían de tapadera a algún mafioso que hacía de él su centro de operaciones clandestino. Aquel local no era excepción y era el centro de operaciones de los Ratas Calvas. Siempre que hubiera una cierta normalidad y no se traspasaran ciertas líneas rojas, la policía hacía la vista gorda, si es que no estaba metida en el ajo. Pese a ello, Hunter no soportaba la presencia de su baboso líder, y cada vez que esa sabandija aparecía por la puerta, instintivamente echaba la mano a su arma para seguido tener que contenerse. Podría acabar con ese tipo, pero se le echaría encima toda la banda y buscarían enseguida un reemplazo.

🇬🇧 As we said, many bars were controlled by a gang or served as a cover for a mobster who made it his clandestine operations center. This place was no exception and was the center of operations for the Bald Rats gang. As long as there was some normality and certain red lines were not crossed, the police turned a blind eye, if they were not involved in it. Despite this, Hunter could not stand the presence of his squalid leader, and every time that vermin appeared at the frontdoor, she instinctively reached for her gun and then had to restrain herself. She could finish this guy off, but the whole gang would be on her and they would immediately look for a replacement.

🇪🇦 No pasó demasiado tiempo antes de que Hunter se acercara a Sandy, aprovechando uno de los pocos momentos que la dejaron sola, pues era ciertamente el centro de atención. Sandy tendría desparpajo en escena, pero Hunter no se cortaba un pelo en directo, si bien más que parecer uno de sus habituales interrogatorios, se dedicó a interesarse por la recién llegada cantante, tanto verbalmente como con más o menos sutil repaso de arriba a abajo.

PD: por falta de tiempo no he estado muy activo pero prometo volver 🙏 tengo mucho material aún por sacar y nuevas ideas! 😃

🇬🇧 It wasn't long before Hunter approached Sandy, taking advantage of one of the few moments she was left alone, as she was certainly the centre of attention. Sandy might have been self-assured on stage, but Hunter was no slouch in person, although rather than seeming like one of his usual interrogators, he took an interest in the newcomer singer, both verbally and with a more or less subtle head-to-toe look.

Inauguración de la exposición en Gipuzkoako argazkilari elkartea - Sociedad fotográfica de Gipuzkoa a quien estoy muy agradecido por poder presentar mi trabajo. Allí multipliqué mi pasión por la fotografía, descubrí el estudio y he sacado partido hasta su último mueble (no es coña salen en las sesiones 😂) Muchas gracias a Josu y Alicia por la organización 🫶

Contentísimo de poder enseñar el trabajo de ya diez años de proyectos fotográficos en eso que yo llamo digital photo storytelling (contar historias en foto vaya).

La exposición es visitable casi todo el mes pero el Sábado 8 hay presentación a las 18h y luego haremos visita guiada y la experiencia pienso que es mejor para entender lo que hay detras.

Muchas gracias de nuevo a todas mis grandes colaboradoras y amigas, modelos, peluqueras, maquilladoras o ayudantes que me han ayudado todos estos años y han confiado en mí. Hoy también ha brillado vuestro trabajo 💖

🇪🇦 Aquella debía ser Sandy, la nueva cantante. Nueva en todos los sentidos porque el bar no tenía cantante. Había sido contratada por cierta influencia o capricho del jefe de la banda que había hecho del local su territorio. Que era una artista era evidente, pero su disonancia iba más allá de la elegancia. Destilaba la candidez de quien no hubiera pisado Neon City, como si su encanto no hubiera sido contaminado por ella, aunque siguiendo sus usos y costumbres, no tardó demasiado en cogerse un pedete, y es que los cocktails de Dan los cargaba el diablo...

🇬🇧 That must have been Sandy, the new singer. New in every way because the bar didn't had a singer before. She had been hired due to some influence or whim of the gang leader who had made the place his territory. That she was an artist was evident, but her dissonance went beyond elegance. It showed the candidness of someone who didn't know Neon City, as if her charm had not been contaminated by it, although following its customs, it didn't take long for her to get drunk, and the fact is that Dan's cocktails were loaded by the devil...

🇪🇦 Aquel era uno de esos días en que Selena ahogaba sus p***s en alcohol, indiferente a las conversaciones o trapicheos de otros clientes. Pese a la dudosa legalidad de alguna de las actividades de los locales, es como si todo el mundo se diera una tregua al entrar en ellos, como pequeños oasis en un hostil entorno urbano. Por supuesto había bronca de vez en cuando pero nada comparado con lo que podías encontrarte fuera si andabas por donde no debías cuando no debías. Selena salió de su ensimismamiento y relativa monotonoía cuando vio a aquella mujer entrar. No la había visto nunca, pero llamaba ciertamente la atención, alguien algo disonante para aquel lugar. ¿Quién sería aquella misteriosa mujer?

🇬🇧 That was one of those days when Selena drowned in alcohol, indifferent to the conversations or plots of other clients. Despite the dubious legality of some of the local activities, it is as if everyone gave themselves a break when entering them, like small oases in a hostile urban environment. Of course there was fighting from time to time but nothing compared to what you could find outside if you walked where you shouldn't when you shouldn't. Selena came out of her reverie and relative monotony when she saw that woman entering. She had never seen her, but she certainly caught her attention, someone somewhat dissonant for that place. Who would be that mysterious woman?

🇪🇦 Selena Hunter frecuentaba el bar de Dan cuando estaba fuera de servicio. Que los policías frecuentaran bares donde podían cometerse o pergueñarse ilegalidades no era nada extraño, porque virtualmente en cualquier bar ocurría esto, cuando no eran directamente el cuartel general de alguna banda. La policía hacía la vista gorda y a veces incluso era parte del negocio, porque la corrupción también estaba a la orden del día. Pese a todo los bares seguían cumpliendo su función esencial de ser un lugar de encuentro, ocio o relajo, si acaso con la ayuda de alcohol, s**o, dr**as o neurodanzas, según los servicios del local.

🇬🇧 Selena Hunter frequented Dan's bar when she was off duty. That the police frequented bars where illegalities could be committed or plotted was not at all strange, because this happened in virtually any bar, when they were not directly the headquarters of some gang. The police turned a blind eye and sometimes were even part of the business, because corruption was common. Nevertheless, the bars continued to fulfill their essential function of being a place of meeting, leisure or relaxation, perhaps with the help of alcohol, s*x, drugs or neurodances, depending on the services offered.

🇪🇦 Dan regentaba un local de copas bastante popular en Neon City, donde mantener un bar era poco menos que echar un pulso a la ciudad. Los bares eran lugares de distracción y perdición, donde la actividad hostelera se mezclaba con todo tipo de placeres y ilegalidades, cuya oferta dependía en gran medida de su reputación y de la tenencia o falta de escrúpulos de los que lo regentaban... Es por ello que en cierta medida, gente como Dan era respetada. Al fin y al cabo, aquellas guaridas eran el palpitar de una ciudad inhóspita.

🇬🇧 Dan ran a fairly popular bar in Neon City, where running a bar was a challenging activity. Bars were places of leisure and perdition, where hostelry activity was mixed with all kinds of pleasures and illegalities, whose offer depended largely on their reputation and the possession or lack of scruples of those who ran it... A reason why, to some extent, people like Dan were respected. After all, those lairs were the heartbeat of an inhospitable city.

🇪🇦 Soy un apasionado de la moda de los 80... 🍭 con sus tejidos ultramiméticos e implantes oculares configurables, siempre con un punto ecléctico y un punto retro que recuerda a los años 20, aquellos que vinieron tras la primera pandemia del s.XXI...

PD: Esta es una sesión muy chula y algo distinta (no diré aun por qué) que llevo bastante tiempo queriendo sacar, a ver si le doy vidilla!

🇪🇦 Después de tanta tragedia no quedaba otra que retirarse a su hogar para informar de la pérdida y llorar a los caídos. Los vikingos eran un pueblo valiente y Astrid sabía que requerirían una respuesta. La pregunta es cuál sería su papel en ella...

PD: este año me he prodigado muy poco en sesiones, la falta de tiempo y cosas acumuladas. Esta sesión ha sido la única de exteriores este año pero la verdad que ha sido maravillosa, aunque pelín gélida como corresponde a las tierras del Norte. Que se lo digan a Carla, fantástica en el papel, felicidades! y Susana que es una artistaza dándole un toque de calidade que lo hace todo mucho más creíble!

🇬🇧 After so much tragedy there was no choice but to retire home to report the loss and mourn the fallen. The Vikings were brave people and Astrid knew they would require a response. The question is what would be her role in it...

PS: this year I have done only a 1-2 sessions, due to lack of time and accumulated stuff. This session has been the only one outdoors this year but the truth is that it was wonderful although a bit chilly, like in the Norther territories. Carla was fantastic in the role, congratulations! and Susana who is an artist giving it a touch of quality that makes everything much more believable!

1x08 Incursión Nocturna / Night Raid

🇪🇦 Tras rehacerse a duras p***s del golpe aquel ataque reclamaba una respuesta. Ya no sólo era una cuestión de venganza o de recuperar el botín, si llegaban noticias de aquella incursión podría hacer que otros pueblos perdieran respeto por los vikingos. Pronto descubrieron la guarida de los atacantes y para devolver el golpe se ayudaron la noche. En general Astrid no era una persona vengativa pero, en su conmoción, la falta de su hermano le obligaba a dar un paso al frente ante sus hombres y liderar la incursión...

🇬🇧 After barely recovering from the attack, it demanded a response. It was not just a matter of revenge or recovering the loot, if news of that raid were heard, it could make other nations lose respect for the Vikings. They soon discovered the attackers' lair and to retaliate they made a night raid. In general Astrid was not a vengeful person but, in her shock, the lack of her brother forced him to step forward before her men and lead the raid...

1x07 Tragedia Familiar

🇪🇦 Lo que era un mal presentimiento se tornó en tragedia. Ap***s quedaba una pequeña parte del regimiento real en la isla y unos pocos menos vigilando los drakkars, lo que aprovecharon un grupo de saqueadores para hacer una incursión. Astrid acudió a por el resto del grupo que estaba en el pueblo pero ya era demasiado tarde. Los saqueadores se habían hecho con el botín, pero lo peor de todo es que habían matado a los desprevenidos vikingos, entre los que se encontraba su querido hermano. Astrid estaba llena de rabia y sopesaba que hacer, ya que su ideal de paz se había desmoronado y su corazón estaba roto.

🇬🇧 What was a bad feeling turned into tragedy. There was only a small part of the royal regiment left on the island and a few less guarding the drakkars, which a group of looters took advantage of to make a raid. Astrid went to get the rest of the group that was in town but it was too late. The bandits had taken the loot, but worst of all, they had killed the unsuspecting vikings, among whom was her beloved brother. Astrid was filled with rage and she was pondering what to do, since her ideal of peace had crumbled and her heart was broken.

1x06 Terribles Presagios / Terrible Omens

🇪🇦 Astrid se acercó a la costa, donde estaba el campamento base, no lejos de los drakkar. Aquello la dejó de piedra. El campamento parecía arrasado y sin saber si era seguro acercarse, aquello desde luego no tenía ninguna buena pinta. No quedaba más remedio que esperar.

🇬🇧 Astrid approached the coast, where the base camp was, not far from the drakkar vessels. That left her stunned. The camp seemed devastated and without knowing if it was safe to approach, that certainly didn't look good. There was no choice but to wait.
