The special prosecutor Mr Martin A.B.K Amidu has sent his resignation letter to president Nana Akufu-Addo today.
He cited inability of the president to ensure his office operates independently for his resignation. The presidency is yet to comment on the issue.

THE DAY PREZ. RAWLINGS ANGERED ASANTEMAN
History is a powerful tool, and it is essential for us to learn so as to shape our present and future. The death of Rawlings evokes memories of the good, bad and ugly episodes which occurred during his reign as military and civilian ruler.
We wish to recount a brief incident that happened in 1999. This was the period the Asantehene Otumfuo Opoku Ware II had joined his ancestors and a new King had just been enstooled.
When the new King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II visited the Osu Castle to pay a courtesy call on then President Rawlings, it was captured on the news how Mr. Rawlings had, intentionally or unintentionally, used his left hand in addressing the new King. Using the left hand in Akan culture is unacceptable and deemed insulting.
Moreover, before the enstoolment of the new Asantehene, the Presidency had declared its fullest support for another contestant.
All these culminated in anger expressed by Asanteman who felt that the Presidency had not respected the office of Manhyia.
As fate would have it, Asanteman decided to let the matter vapourise with the passage of time.
Later, the bonding between the Presidency and Asanteman got to more friendlier levels, and the picture posted herein depicts.
Death is a transition into the other world.

Mr. Rawlings was born Jerry Rawlings John on June 22, 1947, in Accra. His father was a Scottish businessman, and his mother was from Ghanaâs Ewe ethnic group. His parents were not married, and Mr. Rawlings was raised by his mother.
When he entered Ghanaâs training academy for air cadets, his last name, John, was omitted from his official form, and he became known as Jerry Rawlings, or sometimes Jerry John Rawlings.
