ICYMI: Share the Air recently sat down with Boston Brüte Squad's Laura "Capi" Ospina Gómez (she/her). We chat with Capi about the wave of players from other countries finding success and community with U.S.-based clubs, such as Brüte Squad, Denver Molly Brown, New York BENT, and others. While there are many massive accessibility barriers to playing club in the U.S., Capi shares that the mental barrier of "Am I good, skilled, talented enough?" can be a common one amongst athletes considering playing in the U.S. Capi also notes that we will begin to see these club players take their knowledge and confidence back to their respective national teams, and how that will create a much stronger and more competitive international landscape.
Check out Capi's episode on Spotify and Apple Podcasts! Thanks to our sponsors NUTC and VC Ultimate. Happy listening!

ICYMI: In our follow-up conversation with disc golfer, Nova Politte (she/her), Nova talks about the loneliness that occurs when the people in her sport and communities are "slow to care" about others. We consider the questions, "When do we start caring? Only when it affects us? Or when we learn that someone in our community is being impacted?"
In 2024, our team at Share the Air is re-committing to keeping up with the guests, and the stories they graciously share, on our show. We'll continue to listen, learn, and care, and we hope to provide a space for our listeners to do the same.

ICYMI: Part 2 of Share the Air's conversation with Emma Soiles (she/her) is out now! Emma shares her pride in the ways Surge and their fans showed up in their 2023 debut season, and how the Surge game atmosphere can serve as an example for other teams in the PUL.
Be sure to check out both of Emma's conversations with us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever else you get your podcasts! Happy listening!
ICYMI: In our conversation with Emma Soiles (she/her), we talk about how trans ultimate players and allies responded to the anti-trans policies passed by the PDGA in the sport of Disc Golf earlier this year. Emma shares how the group came together to write an appeal to USAU, how that letter was met with both support and vitriol online, and how, at the end of the day, our trans teammates just want to play the sport they love in the communities they care about.
Stay tuned, because we have Part 2 of our conversation with Emma dropping soon!
ICYMI: Last week, we shared Part 1 of our conversation with Emma Soiles (she/her)! Our conversation with @soilgrl_ has us thinking about the ways in which we show up for our communities, especially our trans teammates. Do we (cis folk in particular) consider how difficult it can be for our teammates with marginalized identities to simply show up and play?
We encourage you to give Emma's episode a listen, and stay tuned for Part 2 coming soon!
ICYMI: We sat down with longtime coach, DeAnna Ball (she/her), who took us through her two decades of coaching teams like Ohio State Fever and various U.S. youth national teams, as well as the philosophies that have both informed and been changed by coaching those teams.

ICYMI: Share the Air sat down with pro disc golfer, Nova Politte (she/her), to talk about how Nova's had to navigate the recent PDGA policy that effectively bars trans women from competing in pro or majors events. This ruling comes amidst a wave of violence against and erasure of trans people. Nova graciously takes us through what it's like to live and compete as a trans athlete in this climate, as well as the importance of cis allies standing up for their trans teammates and siblings.
Thank you, Nova, for sharing your story and ways our listeners can help, engage, and support. Together, let's keep the conversation going!

Share the Air stands with our trans family, and will always offer space to our trans and queer teammates to talk about their experiences.
