I started my biz 2+yrs ago as a hobby to meet others and have my own little fun money ๐ I was a fulltime student who recently retired from the military and was used to working outside the home. I missed adults and always having something new to do!

People often claim that independent consultants for direct sales companies are not REAL SMALL BUSINESSES. ๐คจ
They are wrong. (I acknowledge that not all direct sales companies are created equal or abide by the same rules. ๐)
We track business supplies ๐งพand expenses๐ท, we pay in and out๐ค๐ฅ, we report to the government with taxes๐ค, track tax write offs ๐, provide customer service, and 100 other things I could name.
I do not feel we are different other than we do not have to invest thousands and possibly go bankrupt like many small town businesses do. We are not required to have a physical store which gives us the freedom to work on our schedule.
Independent consultants are similar to Franchises. They have to follow rules, corporate guidelines, etc but in exchange to being able to use the name. Main difference is they act as a chain and We have to identify ourselves as independent consultants.
Please consider this the next time you are quick to dismiss many direct sales as non legitimate small businesses. We are just trying to provide for our families like everyone else.

It's been an eventful week for us here in Chicago! Finally got to walk across that stage with some family present and celebrate the end of one journey and the start of another. Took a little time to clean and scrub the microwave and stove top today! For the microwave it took one spray around and NO soak time! Everything cleaned up easy peasy!
