Dear skincare product formulator who hates people comparing the effectiveness of her product to other products, this is for you.

The Skincare industry is saturated and the reputation is not even a great one in Nigeria but let's leave that discussion for some other day.

The general perception however is affecting your and you now have to put more effort into to stay different but one thing you might be missing is that You're engaging in some comparison activities yourself.

of them is the type of you're involved in.

It is not different from what the others are doing e.g., BEFORE AND AFTER.

To use this differently, you can incorporate the journey or process highlighting the struggles and the failed attempts and routine reviews you had to do along the way.

you're setting your skincare brand up for comparison is a price change.

You increased your price because others are doing it ... in the mentality that "Everyone knows what the economy is saying".

Am I asking you not to increase your product prices? Of course not...

The approach you can take to not sound like the rest is to address the reasons why and add something else as an incentive for your customers to let them know that you understand that the economic crisis is not only affecting you... but some of your customers do not get an increase in their salaries or income, the little you can do is assure that they are getting more value.

💭The resounding thoughts of your parent giving you chores just so you don't stay idle.

Then 1 year later, doing those chores without being told, they'll say "O ti n dagba (you're growing)"

😊Now, you're grown indeed and on your own, building your business and you engage in several activities that satisfy your definition of busy-ness

Yeah, you're not idle but how is that playing out on your bottom line?.......

1. Do you have enough results to show for the activities?
2. How do you feel after doing all those activities - happy or dutiful?
3. Does it leave you with a desire to be acknowledged and applauded?

✨️ Some growing-up lessons will not leave easily.

After going through series of overwhelming seasons myself, I can tell you for a fact that doing more is not guarantee that you'll get the result you're looking for.

This has formed my belief that I don't need to have a product for everyone to be rich, I don't need to always find solutions to everyone's problems because that simply left me more confused and overly-overwhelmed (if such word exist).....
Then I sat myself down, crafted a process that allows me to do less than I was doing by focusing on something for a set of people, learnt and still learning to become so good at it, now I'm able to charge more by solving this problem...not for the entire skincare business owners, but to few of them.

Being able to do that for myself and replicating the Same principle for some skincare business owners, the satisfaction, progress, and financial benefits will not make me go back 😊
