On The Record Music For those who fu$ love music. A weekly music podcast featuring full length album reviews and various music topics.

Available everywhere you listen to podcasts. We’re just two guys who just fu**king love music. In 2013 we, Ringer and the J-Man, started going to concerts together and a pre-show routine was quickly established; a few drinks, a little bit of smoke, a vinyl record on in the background and a lot of talk about music. In 2018 Ringer moved to Chicago, leaving J-Man behind in Minneapolis but the convers

ations didn’t stop. The concert going may have halted (temporarily) but, in fact, the music talk picked up. Ringer and J-Man were both thinking about music podcasting and sure as sh*t J-Man brought it up to Ringer and they jumped on it. That’s lead us to create weekly episodes from album reviews to discussing random topics related to music. We’re always looking for new albums and topics to discuss so drop us a line if you’ve got something in mind.

New podcast episode; more Beatles!

As we conclude the never ending, long and winding road that has been Get Back parts 1-3, and Let it Be album review, we wrap up the series with a look at some of the alternate tracks and versions to come out of the Get Back Sessions.

We breakdown these songs and talk about things we like and don't as we relate them to the original Let It Be Album from 1970.

This includes many songs from the Glyn Johns' mix on the super deluxe version of Let It Be and tracks from Let It Be...Naked (which is a fantastic album).

Listen to the episode at the link below or where ever you listen to podcasts.

We spent 8+ hours watching all three parts of "Get Back" the documentary series about the Beatles Get Back sessions and we've dedicated two podcast episodes to the series but if you just can't get enough, we've got more.

Here is a sneak peak in to the mind of Ringer with his unabridged notes from when he sat down, ate, and digested every last second of the Peter Jackson series.

There's a reason the quote "looks can be deceiving" is real. One look at Keith Richards and you wouldn't think such profound gold could possibly come out of his mouth.

“Wonderful Christmastime.” I hate it just as much as you do. The worst part is how catchy it is. Ever since I got Andrew’s question, “Wonderful Christmastime” has played on an endless loop in my head. I can’t get rid of it. It’s a vaccine-resistant melody."

A merry to you all. We're talking Christmas music this week including some of our favorite and least favorite Christmas songs and we preview next week's album review of William Shatner's Shatner Claus.

If you know anything about J-Man it's that he is quite possibly the biggest Beatles fan in the world so you may be shocked to find out that some Beatles' may have made his least favorite Christmas songs list.

This is not only a hell of a line to start a song, but it's a hell of a line to start an entire album.

Andrew Belle does just that in the song Swimmers which kicks off the album Nightshade.

Sequencing (track order) is such an interesting topic. Why an artist puts a certain song here or why the band chose this one as the last song, are things we talk about quite a bit on the show. We talked about this song and this line as a way to kick off the album. It leaves such a mark and sets the tone for the entire album.

"I don't think of you much anymore. I don't wonder about you or your brother. I don't wonder why. Do you?"

One of the more endearing parts of the "Get Back" documentary series about The Beatles. This is from part one during a conversation between Linda McCartney (Eastman), Paul McCartney's wife, and Michael Lindsay-Hogg, director of the film as they are observing the band and specifically Ringo Starr.

It's easy to dunk on Ringo sometimes (for really no warranted reason) but how can you not appreciate this?
