TW: Truly sad to share that my baby Keyla passed away earlier this week.
She was hit by a car Monday evening and did not live that much after.
It crazy how fast or out of nowhere life changing things can happen. Both Nala and Keyla are my babies, my emotional support dogs, my everything. Losing Keyla feels like losing a child (yes i know i dont have any). She was so special to me.
I really loved her but after losing her has it truly hit me how much joy she brought into my life. She had tons of energy the moment she got up, which was good for me because she helped me go outside more. Her barks and facial expressions cracked me up. I even used Keyla’s silly facial expression as a tool to be happy when I’m feeling sad (learned in therapy). She was soo vocal! I knew when she barked a lot, she was super happy.
It’s still hard to accept that she’s gone forever. Like I think for a sec, like there’s never going to be another Keyla in my lifetime for me and that’s crazy.
Being with her in her last moments was very hard for me and makes me tear up remembering her pain. I am glad I was at least there for her in her last breaths.
I wanted to post a long elaborate video of all my memories of her but I truly don’t have the capacity for it. I’m sharing today a snippet of my Keyla!
RIP Keyla, you were truly a gem babygirl! 💎
PS - For those of my friends who got to meet her, can you please do me a favor and write any cute memories you may have of her. I’m fixing up her grave and want to read them to her. 🫂❤️
