There’s been a lot of discussion around hashtags. Here are a few small tips I can offer.
The purpose of a is to make content discoverable.
Using the right hashtags can put you in front of people who have not connected with you before.
The right hashtag means relevant to the content of your post. So don’t hashtag dog when there is not image or mention of a dog in your post.
Having a unique hashtag to identify a product, service or your own brand helps keep track of your posts and specifically where people use the hashtag.
Hashtags are never owned by anyone, so it’s important to do a search before you use a ‘unique’ hashtag. You may find it’s being used already.
It’s ok to add a hashtag into your content - like I’ve done here - as long as it makes sense for the reader. Otherwise put them at the end of the post.
Interestingly, if you share a post, LinkedIn add the first 3 hashtags you use in your post, into the URL of the post .
