But perhaps it’s as simple as this , raising awareness , shedding light on these issues and being intentional about having these conversations. It’s imperative that we educate ourselves on the lack of diversity in media and the effects it has had on a lot of us .

In this “Are we even looking” Q&A series, we interviewed a couple of black parents to check in and see if they were aware of the racial biases that lie in their children’s content , and whether they were actively trying to increase their children’s resources to include more diverse , black content .
Are we even looking at how certain narratives pushed in children’s media plays a role in who they become , what they think of themselves and how they see themselves in the world?
