HEART BENEFITS OF EATING FISH
Did you know that eating fish 3x a week can help reduce heart issues such as blood vessels blockage, heart failure, high bad LDL-cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure, etc.?
You know why because it contains lots of protein, vitamins and minerals especially those with lots of omega-3 fatty acids.
Eating fish such as mackerel, milkfish, salmon, sardines, and tilapia are recommended. These fishes are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and protein that help dilate the blood vessels of the heart and brain. Thus, it can improve the blood flow to these vital organs.
Make it a good habit to include fish and eat it consistently throughout your heart diet plan.
It's also good if you want to try taking fish oil supplements. It also contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that help keep our heart and blood vessels healthy.
A large Japanese study showed that patients who took omega-3 fish oil supplements lowered their bad cholesterol by 26% and reduced heart attacks by 19%.
Philippines based internist and cardiologist Dr. Willie Ong's advice is to eat more oily fish and at least three servings a week as well.
Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian from Harvard Medical School believes that taking 2-3 servings of fish every week already confers substantial health benefits.
