"The Mystery Behind Mary, Queen Of Scots’ Death Mask"

Mary Stuart, more commonly known as Mary, Queen of Scots, led a highly controversial life. She was only six days old when she ascended to the Scottish throne after her father, the late King James V of Scotland, passed away. She spent most of her early years in France and married King Francis II. After his death, she returned to Scotland and married her half-cousin Henry Stuart four years later. Their son James VI and I reigned after her death.

The famous queen was executed in February 1587. As a monarch and member of a royal family, Mary was still given a death mask even if she was not given a public funeral.

A death mask is a replica of a person’s face made after death. It is often made by deriving an impression or a cast from the corps. Because photography was not yet invented during that time, people used it to preserve the likeness of the deceased.

The Queen of Scot was sentenced to death by beheading. However, it took several blows before her head falls off her neck. But her suffering did not display any signs of trauma on the queen’s face, based on the four death masks. Two of which are still existing today.

One of the queen’s death masks, referred to as the Lennoxlove mask, belonged to the Dukes of Hamilton and was kept in their estate at Lennoxlove, East Lothian, for over 250 years. It comes with a casket containing some of the controversial Scottish monarch’s possessions, including the sapphire ring left to the first Marquis of Hamilton and the infamous casket letters.

The box’s content was recently featured in a free exhibition in Edinburgh, while Lennoxlove was closed for two years for refurbishment and conservation. At that time, the Duke of Hamilton revealed that the reason they allowed the public to see the important artefacts is to let the people see one of the finest collections of family portraits in Scotland and relive a special place in the history of the country.

Mary’s other popular death mask is called the Jedburgh mask. It was first discovered in Peterborough, where she was initially buried before her transfer to Westminster Abbey. It is currently on display at the Mary Queen of Scots House in Jedburgh.

People can notice that both death masks do not look the same. The Lennoxlove mask is smaller and almost bare, except for the lashes and eyebrows. Meanwhile, the Jedburgh mask was painted, which appears like the late queen had makeup on during her death.

Controversies still hound the queen long after her death. Antonia Fraser, one of the numerous biographers who focused on her life, believes that the mask in Lennoxlove belonged to one of the early ladies in the Hamilton family. Due to lack of evidence, it would be a challenge to prove both death masks’ authenticity.

The mystery regarding the death masks of Mary, Queen of Scots will most likely continue until new evidence comes out soon.

"Creepy and Real-Life Haunted Villa de Vecchi in Italy"

Haunted Villa de Vecchi is foreboding, alright. Just consider that looming fog blanket! Located near Lake Como, Italy, the "House of Witches" dates back to 1854-1857, when it was built as a summer house for Count Felix De Vecchi. The family was only able to spend a few years there, as their lives were mired in tragedy right after it was built.

First, the architect died a year after construction. Then in 1862, Count De Vecchi came home to discover his wife murdered and his daughter missing. When he could not find her after a year of searching and then he died by su***de. His brother then moved into the home and his family continued to live there until WWII. It's been vacant since the 1960s, and an avalanche in 2002 wiped out all the houses in the area... except this one. Spooky.

"The Ring Lady of Herculaneum"

This skeleton, unearthed from the ruins of Herculaneum in 1982, was named the "Ring Lady" because of the emerald and ruby rings found on the woman's left hand.
The woman in the topic, who was killed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in A.D. 79, was about 45, and in good health.
She was trying to take with her a fortune in jewelry, in particular two gold bracelets and two gold rings with gems.
In 1981 archaeologists in Herculaneum, began exploring the waterfront, beach, and boat sheds, here they have found more than 300 victims.
They were most likely trying to flee from the town by boat and took shelter in the boat sheds when they were overtaken by the pyroclastic flow -- a wall of hot air and ash that can travel at up to 450 miles per hour (700 kph).
Boiled alive by temperatures of around 500 C, they died very quickly.
The Ring Lady was found here, huddled in a boat shed, trying to shelter from the onslaught of Mt Vesuvius.
The boatshed would become her tomb, along with hundreds of others, trying to flee for their lives.

On November 3, 2017, the Belfast Live website posted a weird story that was submitted by a 45-year-old man named Jonathan Hanna, who had a strange and paranormal experience in 2017.
That day found Hanna touring the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum in Cultra, Northern Ireland. Hanna took a lot of photos during the visit and, at one point, Hanna took a nice shot of the unique interior of a train carriage.
After getting home and reviewing the shots, Hanna found this paranormal scene.

Serial Killer John Wayne Gacy As An Infant

Before American serial killer John Wayne Gacy was finally caught in 1978, he r***d, tortured, and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and men in his Illinois home.

But long before his murderous reign, during which he worked as a clown at children's birthday parties and other ceremonies, John Wayne Gacy was just a normal boy. However, knowing what was to come after this photo was taken makes it one of the most undeniably creepy images of all time.

In 20th-century Scotland, gangsters would punish their rivals by cutting a victim's mouth open in the shape of a demented grin — which is now known as a "Glasgow smile."

Inflicted by cutting from one or both corners of the victim’s mouth, sometimes all the way to the ears, the so-called Glasgow smile originated in a dark period in the Scottish city of the same name. The victim’s screams of pain only served to tear the cuts open further, resulting in a terrifying scar that marked the wearer for life.

In fiction, the Glasgow smile — which is sometimes known as the Chelsea smile or the Chelsea grin — is most notoriously associated with the Joker, the iconic Batman movie's villain. But it’s been horrifyingly given to people in real life, too.

In the Victorian era, rampant disease kept life expectancies low while high photography costs kept most people from ever having their picture taken. So when adults and especially young children died without ever sitting for a photograph, their family would often dress and pose the co**se in a lifelike way before inviting a photographer over to have a portrait taken with the departed.

The Black Angel is an eight-foot-tall bronze statue that stands over the graves of three members of the Feldevert family. The stories associated with the statue tell of its mysterious change in color. Over time the mournful winged angel has transformed from her original brilliant bronze tint to a more dark and foreboding black hue. All attempts to restore the statue to its original gleaming incarnation have failed, and the Angel continues to get darker and more ominous looking with each passing year. The Black Angel is said to possess the power to kill anyone who kisses or touches it. Over the years, this color change has been transforming the statue creepier and creepier. Whatever the case, the shadow of the Black Angel statue makes a chilling monument indeed.

Is This The Most Abnormal Ghost Picture Ever Taken?

At first glance, this might seem like an ordinary picture of people posing for the camera, but take a second and look a little closer. Taken in 1972 by a professional photographer who was snapping shots of guests arriving at a wedding reception in Paisley, United Kingdom, appears to have captured a whole lot more than happy, smiling guests.

Did you catch that? If you look closely there is a "man" and we use that term loosely, hiding behind the tall gentlemen on the right.

Let us take a closer look. Do you see it? It took us a while too. Here has the image with red circles highlighting the crouching figure just in case you missed it.

The unsuspecting wedding guest went on to note that after receiving the photograph he questioned the photographer who confirmed that the "spirit extra" also appeared in the negatives and that he could not explain the photograph. As far as he was aware no one was behind the man when the photo was taken and no one was there when they moved away. He also said that it would be impossible for anyone to crouch behind without the person being aware of their presence and indeed without their body being visible to the person’s left.

So who is the mystery man in this weird photograph? The picture was examined by a police photographer who confirmed that THE PHOTO WAS GENUINE AND HAD NOT BEEN FAKED.

So What Do You Think? Is this a spooky sighting of an uninvited wedding guest, or is there a simple, rational explanation? Let us know in the comments below.

The Human Skin Gloves Of Ed Gein!

The murders of THE REAL PSYCHO Killer Ed Gein in the mid-1950s were so shockingly macabre that they inspired everything from The Chainsaw Massacre to Psycho. The Plainfield, Wisconsin man robbed graves, butchered innocent women, and made furniture and clothing out of body parts. This was only discovered upon his arrest in 1957 when police raided his home and found mutilated bodies, bowls made of skulls, a lampshade made of a person's face — and gloves made of human skin.

THE DOG WHO GOT MUMMIFIED INSIDE AN OAK TREE TRUNK: Loggers Have Found A Perfectly Preserved Canine 20 Years After It Got Stuck While "Chasing A Raccoon" !!!

The hunting dog, aptly named Stuckie, was discovered in a hollow stretch 28ft up by loggers chopping up an oak tree in Chestnut, Georgia, US, in 1980.
Experts estimated he had probably been casing some small game before getting himself lodged in the gap approximately 20 years earlier.
Instead of sending the tree off to the sawmill, the workers from Kraft Corporation donated it to Forest World - a tree museum in Waycross Georgia.
Even today, viewers can see the hound through the glass into the tree where he is still reaching out for freedom that will never come.
But how did this dog's body stay preserved for so long when there was no Egyptian mummifying technique to preserve him? The properties of his wooden tomb did the work.
Kristina Killgrove, a biological anthropologist at the University of West Florida, studies decay in humans and explained how the tree itself dry-preserved the dog.

On August 24, after centuries of dormancy, Mount Vesuvius erupts in southern Italy, devastating the prosperous Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum and killing thousands. The cities, buried under a thick layer of volcanic material and mud, were never rebuilt and largely forgotten in the course of history. But in the 18th century, Pompeii and Herculaneum were rediscovered and the remains of more than 2000 human bodies were found. Archaeologists have discovered ash hardened around bodies, which decomposed, leaving skeletal remains. The amazing fact is now, archaeologists have discovered fragments of shiny black glass embedded in the skull of one man who died in the Herculaneum are in fact parts of his brain.
