Valentine’s Day with Nora Ephron💗

Listen to Nora Ephron: Part 2 where we celebrate her strength in her Esquire essays, public divorce from Carl Bernstein 1980, screenwriting beginnings and badassery turning tragedy into comedy in her novel in 1983.

The common denominator between these ladies is their belief in the importance of TRUTH and putting themselves front and center.

Joan Rivers was a Jewish girl from Brooklyn with the balls to “tell the truth onstage.” She became an overnight sensation in 1965 when she appeared on the Johnny Carson show and later became the first woman to land her own late night TV show on Fox.

Frida Kahlo is known for her gorgeous self-portraits. After a horrific accident, she was in a body cast for months and started painting. She was the first 20th Century Mexican artists to have her work purchased by the Louvre. “I don’t paint dreams or nightmares. I paint my own reality.” Let that one sink in.

Yes. From 1976-1984, women institutionalized the debates to introduce the candidates to the American people, so we can hear their platforms, ask the tough questions and hold them accountable. The were in charge until the parties came in and wanted to put restrictions on their events. Cue the beginning of TV bu****it. We tell you all about what went down!
