Need some last-minute June social post inspo? Let me know ⬇️
You've been diligently posting to your practice's social pages, sharing engaging posts, and working towards getting as many followers as you can, but you're not seeing any new clients or an increase in appointments...
Does that sound familiar?
When it comes to being a brick-and-mortar, like a veterinary practice, that doesn't do any e-commerce or business online, the ultimate goal is to attract new followers on your social media accounts that are local to your business, as this is the main source of where you will get clients.
By focusing on gaining as many followers as possible, you attract people that have a high likely hood of NOT doing business with you. So those 10k followers you achieved for your practice look great, but overall, it's not going to do anything for your practice, just due to the business model of a veterinary practice.
This method works great for an influencer or YouTuber, but not for us at our vet hospital.
Trust me, I've been there myself. Seeing that follower count grow is instant gratification and so rewarding in the moment. But it's important to keep in mind that the ultimate goal is to gain new leads that are going to convert into actual paying clients.
For more insight on how you can get your local community members to follow your practice on social media, comment LOCAL, and I'll send you the link to my podcast episode, where I dive into what you can start doing today!
It's time to showcase your team! 🌟
In this week's episode of The Veterinary Social Media Podcast I'm sharing 5 fun and creative post ideas that you can use to create content that will highlight your staff and show off your appreciation for each team member.
Comment TEAM and I'll send you the link to the blog post and podcast episode so you can get all the inspiration for prepping your content ahead of time!

Word of mouth marketing is one of the best types of marketing for a veterinary clinic or hospital, but social media marketing is of course what is relevant in today's digital-forward world.
Here are 3 simple ways you can start attracting your local clients and community to follow you on social media:
1️⃣ Tell your clients you're on social media
2️⃣ Host a contest or giveaway
3️⃣ Partner with a local business
If you want to get into the nitty-gritty of how you can use these processes to grow your social media following with the right pet owners, comment FOLLOW and I'll send you the link to my podcast episode and blog where I share all the juicy details!
I'm so excited to see this come to life!!!
Veterinary receptionists are the ultimate problem solvers! From managing schedules to comforting worried pet parents, they do it all with a smile. 😄💡
As a physical clinic or hospital, you want those who are following you and engaging with you on your social media platforms to be local to you.
Why?
Because they are the ones who are going to be utilizing your services and purchasing your products.
As you start to gain momentum with your social media accounts, I encourage you to ask yourself, "could they do business with us?" - this is a great way to truly determine if your social media following is optimal, or if your follower count is restricted to random people and businesses around the world.
Drop a ⭐ in the comments if this was a helpful reminder!
If you've been working on your social media engagement but aren't seeing your current clients following your accounts or new local leads finding you, this episode is one you're not going to want to miss.
In Episode 9 I'm sharing about ways we can encourage clients and local pet owners to follow our social media accounts, and why it's important to focus on attracting followers in your local community and how beneficial it is to your veterinary practice vs. keeping your focus on the overall follower count.

Truly, I'm curious to know!
Knowing why your practice is using social media will unlock a wealth of knowledge and guidance for you as the one managing social media for the practice.
If you need help in figuring out your practice's why or perhaps refining the reason why, I invite you to listen to episode number 5 of my podcast.
Comment EP5 and I'll send you the link to listen! 🎧
Do you know the reason why your veterinary practice is using social media?
I find many practices use social media because someone told them they had to or they see other hospitals have a social presence, so they should too.
Yes, I firmly believe that a veterinary practice should have a social media presence, but that doesn't mean you have to.
Getting down deeper and figuring out what outcomes or results you want to achieve for your vet practice with social media will give you clarity and a clear direction on what actions you need to take and how you need to spend your time with social media.
This alone significantly reduced my confusion and overwhelm with managing social media.
Plus, it helped me communicate better to my management how social media was positively impacting the practice and how it was generating business.
I dive deep into the abovementioned points in episode 5 of my podcast. Want the link to the episode + show notes?

Meta announces a new subscription service that lets you verify your account.
I can’t say I’m surprised after Twitter implemented something similar not that long ago.
Overall, I’m 50/50 on this, but I can see the benefit to opting in for if you reach a global audience or have people impersonating you often but as a local business? The jury is still out for me!
I’m keeping tabs on this as more info comes out and I will share more as I get info, but what are your thoughts?
Would your practice opt in for this?

Hey Hey! 👋 If we haven't met yet, I'm Cheyanne, a social media coach using this account to teach veterinary professionals how to use social media marketing to generate better results for their hospitals and business more confidently, effectively, and efficiently!
Where did my passion for social media marketing begin? 🤷♀️
My journey began in 2015 when I was freshly hired as a Veterinary Assistant at my local GP veterinary hospital. I was asked to help manage the clinic's Facebook account on my first day. Without hesitation and eagerness to please my new boss, I said YES.
The thing was, I had NO experience with social media before this and NO marketing training or knowledge whatsoever, but I was willing to learn and give it my best shot. I spent HOURS of my own time scouring the internet, looking for resources, and searching for others to help mentor me, like Snout School. I began to teach myself how to use social media and apply what I was learning to my new role at the clinic. 👩🎓
I want to save you the time and energy it takes to learn and keep up with social media and share what I've learned (and still learning!) about social media marketing and provide you with the info you need to know, and show you how to implement it through my podcast, YouTube channel, courses, membership, custom social strategies, and consulting work.
I quickly became OBSESSED with using social media as a marketing tool for my clinic and turned my new study topic into my main focus. Fast forward a few years, and I made a career out of managing social media for other veterinary hospitals, businesses, and consultants and built a social media agency.
How do I use this knowledge and experience to help you? 🤷♀️💚
I want to save you the time and energy it takes to learn and keep up with social media and share what I've learned (and still learning!) about social media marketing and provide you with the info you need to know, and show you how to implement it through my podcast, YouTube channel, courses, membership, custom social strategies, and consulting work.
If you are in charge of your vet clinic's social media or running your own vet-focused business and looking to expand your social media marketing knowledge or presence, I would be honored to support you in your journey. 💚
🔥YOUR TURN!🔥What do you do, and how do you want to use social media for your career or business? 💬
I feel like 2022 just flew by! Does anyone else feel the same?
I spent New Year's Eve at home snuggling with my firework-phobic Basset Hounds and my flock of chickens (yes, they all got snuggles, too🐓), resting and reflecting on 2022.
I ended up welcoming in the new year by plotting all the exciting things I will accomplish in 2023 and stayed up way too late doing so 😂 My soul is filled with all the excitement and possibilities this year will bring, but I need a nap now! 😴
How did you welcome 2023?
📸: This is me with my rooster, Rooger 💚
Looking to get more of your existing clients to follow you on your social media accounts?
Try these tips out!
What are some ways you get clients to follow you?
I had a great conversation with Katie Berlin on American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)'s podcast, Central Line! Take a moment to listen to this quick episode!
"How do I get more engagement on my posts?"
It's a great question and one I get asked often. In response, I always ask, "What does engagement look like to you?"
Generally, people are referring to the comments, reactions, and possibly shares, but there are several forms of engagement that we can utilize and measure the success of a post!
Engagement could also be:
➡️link clicks
➡️website visits
➡️profile visits
➡️comments
➡️shares
➡️saves
➡️reactions
Not all engagement will get people reacting or getting attention in the way you envision it. However, your posts can generate traffic and revenue and not even get a like or a comment and still be considered successful and engaging. 🤯
My next question that usually follows is, "What are you looking to achieve with your social media accounts?" This is where the conversation can turn into crickets as people's minds die slowly inside as they aren't sure how to answer, and that's ok!
🧠 KNOW THIS🧠: establishing your goal for your social media pages and each post helps you determine what type of engagement you want and dictates what you see as success or not.
🔥TRY THIS🔥: Before you make a post, I encourage you to ask yourself, "What do I ultimately want to come as a result of publishing this post?" Then gear your post to accomplish that very goal! Once you try it, come back and tell me how it worked for you!
If you are struggling with getting your posts to get more engagement and convert followers to do more business with you, I invite you to join me in my new course, The Fundamentals of Veterinary Social Media Marketing, when it launches!
In my course, I give you all the foundational knowledge you need to not only manage social media & create engaging content for a vet clinic, I also show you my methods and systems on how to maximize your time, energy, and results. If you want the details on my new course, comment below, "I want more info!" and I'll send you the details in a DM.

"But no one interacts with my posts!" 😤 😵💫 The truth is it takes time to attract the right audience AND to train them to interact and engage with your post content. It's almost like introducing yourself to someone new and making the intention to speak with them and asking them questions about themselves so you can get to know them better. 👋 You have to be the one to initiate the conversation! Then you have to show up consistently to stay in touch and keep the relationship growing. 🪴 👉 This is the true secret to building engagement. No hacks, now fluff. 🕵️♀️ You don't need all the hacks to succeed. You just have to stay committed and connected. 🤝 Easier said than done, I know, but it does get easier with time!
