CHIKUNGUNYA OUTBREAK, NAITALA SA BATANES AT NUEVA VIZCAYA- DOH R02

Naitala ang “Chikungunya Outbreak” sa dalawang probinsya sa rehiyon dos dahil sa pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ng naturang sakit ngayong taon ayon sa Department of Health (DOH)-Region 02.

Sa naganap na Pagdidinnamagan: Kapehan sa Kapitolyo ngayong Lunes, Nobyembre 20, 2023, sinabi ni Dr. Romulo Turingan medical officer V ng DOH-R02, mula sa dalawang kaso ng chikungunya sa rehiyon noong nakaraang taon ay umakyat ito sa 508 na kaso ngayong taon.

Ayon kay Dr. Turingan, mataas ang pag-akyat ng bilang ng kaso ng naturang sakit kung kaya’t idineklara itong “outbreak” sa Alfonso, Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya at Batanes.

Sinabi ni Dr. Turingan na isa sa kanilang mga nakikitang sanhi ng pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ng naturang sakit ay ang “mobility” ng mga tao na may sintomas ng naturang sakit kaya mabilis umano ang pagkalat nito.

Paliwanag ni Dr. Turingan ang sintomas ng Chikungunya ay kahalintulad ng dengue gaya ng; lagnat, sakit ng ulo, at rashes. Malalaman lamang umano ng isang tao kung nakapitan na siya ng naturang sakit pamamagitan ng laboratory diagnosis.

Kaugnay rito, sinabi ni Dr. Turingan na patuloy ang kanilang pagpapadala ng chemical control sa mga nasabing lugar upang mabigyan ng agarang lunas ang mga kinapitan ng nasabing sakit.

Pinayuhan din ni Dr. Turingan ang publiko na agad magpakonsulta sa pagamutan kapag nakaranas ng mga nasabing sintomas para agarang mabigyan ng gamot.

Samantala, nagbigay ng paalala si Jellico Bryan Cabatotan, Senior Health Program Officer for Communicable Disease Cluster ng DOH Region 02 sa publiko na mag-ingat sa mga sakit na posibleng makuha ngayong taglamig tulad ng sipon at ubo. # # #
