Some people debate to learn and grow or teach. Some debate to be right always and they are not looking for anyone to modify or challenge their opinions. In our line of work making content for film we get challenged all day and night. So we have to always keep learning to keep up.

From the page Motherland: Eid is a Muslim holiday people compare to Christmas. But the main difference is when you see Eid in Somalia, then see Eid in West Africa, and then Eid in Egypt or Eid in Malaysia or India while they all retain the primary rituals of Eid, each culture has a different flavor of how they celebrate it. Even in South Africa how Gujarati Indians celebrate is different from how the so-called Coloreds of the Cape may celebrate it which is again very different from how the so-called Zanzibarians of Durban celebrate it.
So the same can be true for Christmas. But more often than not Christmas is dominated by the prevalence of European culture at the expense of everyone else's local culture. With the exception of Ethiopia (and a few other places).

To the ignorant and semi-literate their failure to read and comprehend does not cause them to see their weaknesses and shortcomings. Oh no. Why do that? When you can call out the person making the statement. Of course, things do not make sense to people when you have no sense to start with. So it is you (the person making sense) that is the problem. So you say go read this book. And they come back and say " That book makes no sense it is gibberish", like the piano student who mucked up their rehearsal and blamed the poor digital piano for being out of tune.

So what is wrong with celebrating Christmas? Well, it is pretty simple and we should not get confused. There is nothing wrong with celebrating Xmas if you are a Christian or non-religious. After all, with all due respect, it is a Christian holiday although capitalism was never going to let that horse go unridden. Xmas is BIG business. It is part of that Christian culture and to be clear about OUR culture we have things that amplify our beliefs Eid for example. If it is all about doing what everyone else is doing, one day we will wake up and not know the boundary between our respective cultures/religions. And the gateway to that disintegration is with innocent holidays like Christmas. Next thing you got the tree and the Santa. Siraaj Wahaaj (if I remember) said he just makes it about family, without celebrating the actual holiday because the next thing you into the belief system. Each to his own. We are not all supposed to be identical.

Doing work for free is very tricky. If a charity approaches us and say we are doing something really important and we need some drone footage of our camp to showcase the plight of displaced refugees how do you say no? But then again drone flying is a specialist service and it is expensive because it is expensive to buy the drone, get the skills(something people always forget to look at), pay the insurance, and fix it when it crashes (and it does just as Ocacia Designer Clothing.

Now if this charity is a one-person organization and they have no funds or anything you might help them, but you would be less helpful if you found out they are heavily funded and just taking liberties. And they do. They will pay people and then come and expect you to work for free. So the best solution is they must pay something. Or work on some reciprocity. Because we are not a charity and cannot get funds for what we do. It is therefore stupid to work for free in most situations where we ourselves run the risk of destroying our own source of revenue. Then who can help us when we have nothing.

Because we are trained in this society tochase bliss and make everything positive it kind of forces the seriousness out of reality. Now if we are not prepared to engage with reality and everyone is a joke or meme or one of those stupid positivity quotes. Then how do we deal with real World challenges? We LOL at everything, nothing is somber. If you try to take something serious someone says " your post aren't engaging"

Back in the day, we had a product called CONTROL. All about control. Even we with all we knew could not picture a day with social media where control would be taken to an all-new level. I think even Orwell would have been shocked. I wished we could have released these types of products. What a film that would be. Control and human civilization is an epic project

Good and right do not make the money. Stupid, dumb and bad do that. Look around social media and you will see it. The reward systems of this world reward ignorance. But those in control do not reward their own ignorance. They just make sure the masses stay ignorant to better help their genius system of control.

The devil has run this world for a long time. And when you talk like that people say "Oh no that's religious talk" but you know that "religious talk" is just a way of articulating and observable reality using religious rhetoric. Today I want to give you an example with the words natural and unnatural. B/c today the word unnatural has to be deleted from the dictionary. You can so all kinds of strange things and stick things in place where stuff is only supposed to come out (don't make me paint a picture) and it is called by heath experts in the West as a "perfectly natural act", it is so natural that it exposes you to all kinds of problems that would not occur had you just done natural stuff. But guess what the word unnatural gets in the way of the devil's work so let us alter reality so that everything is natural and nothing is unnatural. When they finally figure out how to get two men to mate and reproduce that will also be natural. Below is a picture of something natural. i.e. as created naturally by natural processes. Unnatural processes cannot create life.

Habeeb Akande wrote a nice book on Africans and North Africans in Islam and the issue of racism etc. Considering the paucity of information on these topics it is very good. Habeeb also writes a lot of books on S*X. (yeah you know when you say that word in religious communities people start to get uncomfortable). But I am here to admit I was also very dismissive of this kind of work until I realized a few things. What exactly is Taboo about S*x? We like it don't we? But the real issue is not with s*x but with this filthy society that we live in that has commodified s*x and made it so public. So that is 98% of the issue with s*x today. We all know privately what happens when we have issues with s*x, just like money they cause a whole heap of issues in our lives. Like you do not want to know.

I just watched a video by Dr. Gabor Maté on alienation and the 4 ways culture makes us feel lost
1. Alienation from nature
2. Alienation from People
3. Alienation from Work
4. Alienation from Self

and I asked myself where is spirituality? So why did he leave it off if it clearly is one of the most important things we are alienated from? This is the problem with WESTERN ideology. If something does not fit with their agenda it is ignored. If something is vital to our well-being as humans, it is reduced and mitigated. So who is this message for? Not you and not me. Think about going to a Western Dr, who thinks like this for a cure to your problems. So when African scholars discuss the problems with Eurocentric ways of looking at the world and the devaluation of things that matter to us (and most people) this is what they are talking about. An entire discipline way of thinking that is atheistic yet presented as normal.

Islam is practiced by over 200,000 Brazilians—making it the largest Muslim community in Latin America—most of whom are Arab in origin, with smaller but growing numbers of Brazilian converts. The Brazilian Muslim community includes both Sunni and Shi’a Muslims.

Islam arrived in Brazil with West African slaves, including Hausa, Malinkes, and Yoruba. Muslim slaves were largely victims to the political circumstances in what is present-day Nigeria. Instability and war associated with the creation of the Sokoto Caliphate generated thousands of Hausa slaves, many of them rival soldiers. Muslim slaves were also captured during the internal wars of the Yoruba Oyo Empire to the south. However, early Brazilian Muslims were not solely representative of one or two ethnic groups, but many, including Africans who converted to Islam in Brazil.

Culture and religion are like maps they help us navigate the roads of life. Sometimes people just use them because their parents used them and do not understand that and just celebrate the mere rituals.

A living religion is a religion that functions in our lives. It is not some abstract collection of rituals that you perform at some designated time and then go about your day totally divorce from the religion. It lives in the real world dictating how we interact with people, how we treat the environment, and our social responsibilities, it solves real-world challenges. Divorce, family disputes, business disagreements. B/c if we are saying God is the voice behind our religions then surely God must have the instructions to do more than rituals? It would be strange if religion (sent by God) could not help a couple in trouble or someone who has no place to sleep.

When we say "Evolution" people often see a picture like this. But we as a company going on 24 years now have evolved. And this will be a very important short message about EVOLUTION!. Despite being a Muslim company we deal with all kinds of issues from human rights, and environmental issues, to social justice and race/religious issues. But we approach these issues from within an Islamic framework using Islamic concepts (for the most part) for our base ideological approach. But then someone would say that is problematic. NO! it is not. B/c scholars like Ibn Sina and Ibn Rushd were Muslims, yet were able to absorb the work of the Greeks and developed both radical concepts which ultimately influenced Western philosophy. So you will realize that it makes no difference what ideology you are working with as long as you are working with it well. And evidence of this is how via our work we have come to the same conclusions and approaches as people from non-Muslim backgrounds when tackling issues of race and racism.
You see a commonality across all groups when it comes to an evolved response to oppression regardless of if you are using an Islamic lens on oppression or a socialist lens or even a postmodernist lens.

What has happened to most Muslims is that they have failed to evolve and expand their understanding beyond a strictly religious treatment of things. They only know to scream bloody murder when something falls on their own head. We have taken things beyond and applied them to how we do business ethically, how we handle disputes, how we resolve conflicts, how we agree to disagree, and how we debate. More importantly like a Dr. of any religion or nationality, we have to do our job first regardless of if the villain is Muslim or non-Muslim. It makes no difference. If Muslims want to unfair Jews, then we are on the side of justice permanently.

when we did the Arab Slave trade we did not handle it any differently from how we handled the European Slave trade or Christianity and slavery. If we made excuses for the Bible we made excuses for the Qur'an. Absolutely no favoritism.

And we will learn from anyone! Makes no difference who that person is. They could be 5 years old, if they are teaching, we are listening.

There was a Golden Age of Islam when Muslims were able to produce the greatest philosophies and build amazing architecture and advance all types of science. What happened? Look at religion, any religion as a toolbox. You can expand the tools and build communities, cultures, universities, governments etc. That is a LIVING religion because it is used in the living world to do world building. Just like English and Arabic are living languages because we utilize them as forms of communication. The Anglican church serves a role in the parishes it represents, they have outreach programs, etc, all religions do this. What would be said of a religion that stops doing this and is just a place of worship with no outreach, no madrassas, no activities, no counseling, no mentorship, and no conflict resolution? A religion that cannot create a community to serve its practitioners in any shape or form in the real world beyond holding prays and performing abstract rituals.
