Inner Mongolia was once one of the places in China with the most concentrated and most serious . Since 2012, however, the tide has clearly turned. In the period, the region has wrested an average of 800,000 hectares of sand under its control annually, accounting for more than 40 percent of the country's desertified land.

Indefatigable work continues in the Right Banner of autonomous region to help green the Gobi Desert by planting hardy sacsaoul trees there.

In the banner's Shariin Khudag gatsaa, the planting area for sacsaoul trees has exceeded 36,666 hectares, due to a 22-year effort made by a woman called Baohua and another 80 herdsman households. The greening is not only cutting down , but also providing economic benefits to the area.

Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner, located in Baotou city in North China's autonomous region, is drawing the attention of bird lovers with the presence currently of more than 1,000 Mino .

The Mino cranes will stay there for about 20 days, to prepare for their long-distance to the southern foothills of the . The maximum number stopping in the banner could reach about 5,000 this year.

🧐What's a "green "? Go and find out by travelling to Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Situated on China's northern border, is now being seen as a shield for the country's ecological security.

🌳🌳The forest area of the region covers nearly 26.6 million hectares, accounting for 12% of the country's total . A total of 8.13 million hectares of trees have been planted there, with the region's forest coverage reaching 23%.

🥳Nice one! Inner Mongolia is continuing to ramp up its efforts to develop , as it goes full throttle with its transition to green energy.

From 2012 to 2021, the installed capacity for new energy in increased to 56 million kW, accounting for more than a third of the region's total installed electric power capacity. That's as the power generation of new energy there reached 119.1 billion kWh, ranking it No 1 in the country.

👍The strikingly beautiful region's giant greening efforts are paying off! Remaining faithful to its green development philosophy, has planted 8 million hectares of trees and 19 million hectares of grass over the past decade.

Following a steady decline in the desert areas, the vegetation coverage and forest coverage rate there have increased from 40.3 percent and 20.8 percent to 45 percent and 23 percent, respectively.
