A great turnout and a lot of fun this morning at the DRBAs Coffee n Conversation at Affordable Signs and Banners! Our June issue is out, and our cover story star, CJ Wesby, was on hand to receive his copies and due recognition. Affordable Signs, one of our new sponsors, is celebrating 35 years of business in Del Ray and the launch of their rebranding! Their ad with us shows off the new logo.

Fun and cold morning doing a photo shoot with the Friends of Mount Vernon Trail. They are normally there every Saturday morning helping maintain this 18-mile long gem. Coming to a magazine cover near you very soon!

Today I had the honor, privilege and pleasure of meeting Renee Adams, founder of Del Ray’s Poetry Fence, a homegrown local institution. She shared so many interesting insights and perspectives with me—more on this in upcoming issues of Greet. Meanwhile, letting this serve as an FYI that April, around the corner, is National Poetry Month, with participation by Duncan Library, latest (co)winner of the Heart of Del Ray Award!

This isn’t ,obviously, in Del Ray, but just came back back from a fabu art opening in DC at the Katzen Center at American University. The first few images are an installation by my friend Micheline Klagsbrun, who heads a longstanding art group that I’ve been a part of for over 20 years (I’m a painter by hobby and sometimes commission). Am sharing as a shout out in case anyone is looking for something fun and different to explore outside the usual Smithsonian museums. This show runs through May 15.

The Greet launch party last week at the Del Ray Pizzeria was a great success! Alexandria Vice Mayor Amy Jackson (in first pic) was on hand to introduce me and the magazine. Hard to believe the second issue just came out and just sent the third one off for layout! .
