Not bad.

Wonderful meet-up with author Whitley Strieber earlier today in London.

So many exchanges of ideas and wonderful anecdotes.

Also great to be joined by my old friend Bob Steen later in the afternoon who added even more to exchanges.

I was delighted when Whitley agreed to sign my copy of his book "The Key: A True Encounter".

His comment "From the floor to Anthony Peake refers to the totally weird way this particular book found me.

On the second day of CONTACT in the DESERT in early June, Whitley and I had agreed to meet up over lunch. I was keen to discuss with him the "Daemon-Eidolon Dyad" implications of his encounter with an entity he called "The Master of the Key" in Toronto on the night of June 6, 1998. This he describes in detail in his 2011 book "The Key". I was frustrated that I had not bought to California my copy of this book as I wanted to check out some of the descriptions in the book.

I was sitting in the author area of the conference early that morning. There was nobody around and I was quietly checking my emails. I looked up to see, in the centre of the conference area floor, a book lying there. I had looked at that area a few seconds before and there was nothing there. The book had appeared as if from nowhere. Furthermore there was nobody around so somebody could not have placed it there, or accidently dropped it. It was all very strange.... but it got a lot stranger when I went over and picked the book up.

It was a copy of .....yep, you guessed it, the very book I needed, Whitley's book "The Key".

I was gobsmacked! The book I needed, written by the person I was meeting in four hours time, had seemingly just materialised in the floor in front of me!

I was able to read the sections I needed to before meeting up with Whitley....something that really enriched our exchange of ideas.

Today I brought this magical book to my London meeting with Whitley and asked him to sign it .... so it was "from the floor to Anthony Peake"!

Next Sunday, 29 September 2024 at 8 pm BST I will be posting on my YouTube the first edition of a fortnightly monologue.

This will be totally unscripted 45 minute stream-of-consciousness discourse in which I will discuss anything that has caught my attention. This may relate to my writing but it could involve music, fiction, travel or any of a number of subjects.

Join me and add your own comments and observations on the subjects I cover.

I have decided to call the monologues "A Peak(e) Behind The Curtain" from the wonderful pun invented by those wonderful guys at Klazva, who have created a collection of tee-shirts featuring myself, and my fellow writers RN Vooght, Myron Dyal and Mike Foirito (all of whom have been guests on The Anthony Peake Consciousness Hour).

Just received this wonderful comment regarding my last book, "Cheating the Ferryman" from my good friend, Austrian consultant psychologist Dr Engelbert Winkler (the co-inventor with consultant neurologist Dr Dirk Proeckl of the Lucia Hypnagogic Light Experience).

Actually more anthropology than sociology. I need to discuss the title with my publisher. One of the very few drawbacks of being “traditionally” published (rather than “vanity” or “self” published) is that because the publisher pays the author and finances all the production, distribution and marketing costs, the author has only minimal, if any, involvement in the cover design or title.

I am on a solo adventure to find more about the mystical drink Soma in the ancient southern Indian city of Madurai.... considered to be one the centres of soma consumption in ancient times.

It is wonderfully, and totally unintentional, that I am synchrondipitiously reading Dr Gregory Shushan's 2011 article "Afterlife Conceptions in the Vedas" while staying in a hotel overlooking this lively city.

In this Greg discusses the section in the Upanishads on "King Soma" and his admission into Svargaloka.

All this will be included in my forthcoming book.

Oh yes, the translation from The Rigveda (8.48.) of the verse that opened this posting is:

"We have drunk the soma; we have become immortal; we have gone to the light; we have found the gods.
What can hostility do to us now, and what the malice of a mortal, o immortal one?"

Now this is one of the weirdest things I have ever seen..... and remember there were no glaciers ever in Southern India so this huge rock could not have been placed there as a glacial erratic.

Together with the puzzling rock-cut a few miles away, this area is really odd.

My musical choice this afternoon.

I bought this album when it was first released in 1992.

Little did I know that UFOs and OBEs would be central to my future writing career!

My favourite track is still O.O.B. E. with its amazing opening narrative:
