Thank You so Much Rein!
Dan Montgomery : Cast-Iron Songs & Torch Ballads
===========================================
As with his previous one, Smoke & Mirrors, Cast-Iron Songs & Torch Ballads is released exclusively on vinyl. It copy fortunately does come with a download link which is a digital audio file Contains. Always handy! The path taken is also continuing. Dan has made me aware of the music of The Dream Syndicate years ago (something for which I'm still grateful to him), and you hear the influence of that band all the time More back on this new album. There was a gradual shift from Roots related Americana to more contemporary Americana, when you do so may state. There are more Rock components present, and Dan also found room to To be soulful. The album feels very coherent, even more so than his previous record, as if the artist has found his destiny. He slides his Enthusiasm does not hide, he is very proud of this album. Play it Loud & Proud. Officially available in early April, but it ships his orders already.
Dan's wife, Cate, received during Corona a brain hemorrhage. It turned their world upside down. All of a sudden, a incredible tap handed out. She survived too much need, but they were killed in the process. immediately introduced to a world unknown to them. Fortunately, Cate scribbles little by little. In addition, Dan now has time for music again. In the opening track, Start Again, you can hear that there is room again. Life offers perspective again. Almost more than that, in fact. The fun of the game is bursting with this plate. You should try not to dwell too much on what is happening to you, But above all, enjoying the possibilities that lie ahead, seems to be the message. I was always fond of Dan's music, but this last one really hits him on the body written. It's lively music. Medicine for the idiotic times which we seem to be facing more and more at the moment. Then supported by a compact team, with the support of Robert Mache not yet moment is ingedut. They make great music, and show what a electric guitar is intended. Baby Your Luck's Running Bad is a First Class "Swoon" song, one that would not have looked out of place on a record by The Delines. A nice interlude between music that is often dynamic.
