ON THE BASELESS REPORT BY IkENNA OBIANERI OF PUNCH NEWSPAPER TITLED “POLICE DISMANTLE ESN, IPOB CAMP IN ANAMBRA COMMUNITY IPOB. ”

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has noted with disgust the malicious falsehood published by The Punch Newspapers on September 4, 2025, alleging that police and allied security forces dismantled an “ESN/IPOB camp” in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata LGA, Anambra State.

We categorically state that this report is fabricated propaganda. Punch Newspaper has, once again, reduced itself to a mouthpiece of the Nigerian government by parroting unverified claims designed to smear IPOB. No evidence has been presented, no independent investigation carried out, and no attempt made to verify from the community or from IPOB. Instead, Punch chose to peddle fiction as fact.

If the Nigerian Police or their partners in the media have any credible evidence, they should tender it in a competent court of law. Instead, Punch has chosen to insult the intelligence of Nigerians and the global community with this disgraceful hatchet job.

Punch claims to be a national newspaper but has abandoned investigative journalism. Its reporters sit in Lagos and Abuja, recycling government handouts, rather than visiting Anambra or Imo to confirm the truth. IPOB is prepared to sponsor investigative teams from Punch and other outlets to travel to the East and investigate on the ground—if indeed they are interested in journalism and not propaganda.

We state without equivocation that the said publication is a malicious falsehood. If the Nigerian Police or their media collaborators have any credible evidence of such a “camp,” they should present it in a court of law instead of insulting public intelligence with fiction.

This lazy journalism and reckless peddling of propaganda underscores the moral bankruptcy of some Nigerian media houses. They have abandoned the sacred duty of investigative reporting and instead act as mouthpieces for a regime bent on ethnic demonization. IPOB is prepared to sponsor investigative teams from Punch, Daily Trust, The Nation, and Premium Times to travel to the East and see the truth for themselves, instead of regurgitating propaganda from security agencies.

The shameful report by Punch Newspapers is not journalism. It is ethnic propaganda, it is dangerous, and it exposes Punch as complicit in the wider agenda of demonizing Biafra and IPOB. IPOB will henceforth call out, by name, every rogue outlet and journalist that engages in this deliberate misinformation campaign.

Let it be known: IPOB remains whiter than white. No amount of Punch Newspaper’s propaganda can taint our cause, which is rooted in justice, self-determination and justice.

9igeria Government Finally Abandons Simon Ekpa After Recruiting Him

After Simon Ekpa failed to end IPOB he promised those who recruited him. Simon bragged many times that he would be at the end of IPOB. "I will be your end," Simon said with a mischievous smile on live video on social media.

Every action of Simon Ekpa was passed on to IPOB by the government using corrupt journalists and media houses in 9igeria. They never mentioned him. Simon Ekpa was reckless with his activities. Many agent provocateurs in history take safety as paramount. They protect themselves against those who recruited him and those he was recruited to destroy. But Ekpa threw caution to the wind, probably because the show started entering his head. Africa has lots of ignorant people and Igbo land had their own share of these ignorant people. After Ekpa fọ́ọ́led them with Biafra, calling themselves Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's disciple and claiming to be what he was not, these people started calling him many names. Obata Obie, mma ejiri but agụ, Prime minister, etc., was what they called him. Apart from the monies he got from government point men, he also received tens of thousands in dollars and pounds from gullible people he fọ́ọ́led. All these things got into his head and he forgot his safety.

With the type of support the government gave to Simon Ekpa, they never believed he would fail them. After three years of lies, kidnapping and kị́lling led by Simon Ekpa, Finland's government came knocking. He got arrested and his case is a serious one. Ekpa is gone. He won't be coming out soon as he nailed himself when he started coming on social media to claim responsibility for every crime committed in the East. He was doing this for the government to keep passing it as crimes committed by IPOB.

Now that Simon Ekpa has been arrested, the Nigerian government has started profiling him. One thing our people should know is that when a government recruits you, they will never go down with you. They will abandon you when the time comes. Those who recruited to torment our people in Imo State must know that the government is now tired of them, and the government has started the clean-up exercise. They will create you, yet they will destroy you. Have you forgotten Don Wanny? Rivers State Government created him and the same Rivers State Government destroyed him. That's how it works. The government will move to capture all they used to put fire in Imo State to keep them from exposing what they did.

Let the abandonment of Simon Ekpa by the 9igerian government be a lesson to everyone still dreaming of taking an offer from the government against his or her people.

Let the 9igeria Government stop pretending. Ekpa is your son.
