Been Contemplating changing the studio name to "Off to the Side Recordings" mainly because I just like the sound of it better. It resonates with how music tends to eb and flow in my life with how much bandwidth it takes up (may not always be consuming the forefront but always just off to the side in my peripheral) and the client listening chairs are off to the side as opposed to directly behind the desk as the room just works better that way. Fun fact, the acronym of DSMD stands for Dirty Stinky Monkey Dog. When I first started making records in my shoe-box 1 bed room apartment in Culver City, my old stinky monkey dog man was just as sweet as he was old and stinky, more so as he got nearer his final days. Felt fun and tongue in cheek to call it that and give a lil homage to him and perhaps a way to not take myself too seriously. DSMD has a ring to it, sure, but the new space is anything but dirty/stinky and I began to wonder if perhaps I was out growing the moniker (monkiker?😏)...
