​First of all this is not a post where I'm going here to sit here and brag about my overnight success because quite honestly it has been nothing like that. The reality behind this post is years of hard work, long nights, sacrificing my social life and quite a few tears to get to this point.⁣

Over the weekend I went out and purchased my very first laptop on through my business 😱! To tell you the truth this ain't my first rodeo when it comes to starting a business and I fell on my face more times that I can count but do you know what the difference has been this time around? I decided I was going to invest in myself 150% and stop treating my business like a hobby. This is when everything changed!! ⁣💫

​You see there will NEVER be the perfect time to do anything in life and we as human's find it scarily easy to come up with reason's why we SHOULDN'T start that business or why we CAN'T follow our dream career as an influencer⁣

​It's crazy when I think about it but everything I have ever achieved in my life time that paid off has always come with an element of fear, uncertainty or risk. It might be a cliche but really need to ask yourself how can you turn your CANT'S into CAN's to create your dream life?

As an influencer getting brand deals is one of the ways you are able to make an income or receive free products in exchange for social media promotion. One of the most common questions that have been coming through lately is how to know whether a brand collaboration is an authentic one - so we are here to give you all the insights!⁣⁣

​⚠️ THE BRAND PITCH⁣⁣
​When you read the email does it sound like a personalized pitch that was tailored just for you? Does the email include your first name? Is the offer a mutually beneficial arrangement?⁣⁣
⁣
⚠️ PAYING FOR PRODUCT⁣⁣
​During a genuine brand collaboration, you shouldn't ever have to pay for the product you will be promoting. Brands who are genuinely interested in working with you should understand that a collaboration is a mutually beneficial arrangement and that gifting you product is compensation for your time and promotion⁣⁣
⁣
⚠️ PAYING FOR SHIPPING⁣⁣
​This is another common request we see floating around on some brand collabs and the same rule applies as above. A brand should not be asking you to pay any money out of your pocket if they are really interested in working with you.⁣
⁣
I completely endorse gifted collaborations and feel it's a great way to build brand relationships and create trust within the industry. In future when you are approached by a brand remember to ask yourself these questions before accepting:⁣
⁣
1. Does the brand offer seem genuine and tailored just for me?⁣⁣
​2. Am I excited about this collaboration and does it genuinely fit within my niche?⁣⁣
​3. Will this collaboration come across as authentic to my audience/does it bring them value?⁣⁣
​4. How long is it going to take me to create this content?⁣⁣
​5. Is the gifted product value worth my time and promotion to my loyal audience?⁣⁣
​6. Is this a collaboration I feel I should be getting paid for not just free products?

1. DEFINE YOUR BRAND⁣
Ask yourself what niche does your account cover and how can colours assist in telling this story? Are you a girl who only wears neutral colours? Do you aim to share all the hidden dreamy travel destinations you love to visit? All of these key points can assist your direction when trying to build your aesthetic ⁣

2. WHAT COLOURS ARE YOU DRAWN TO⁣
What do you find you are most drawn to in every day life? Is it light and bright colours? Dark and moody? Do you love a pop of red? Consider these questions when building your dream aesthetic and build your colour palette around this. ⁣

3. CREATE A MOOD BOARD ⁣
