Paid Opportunities: Poll Monitors are needed ASAP. Register for interest here - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeNrP6obgtgZNK-OiffsBvLXk7bFma1CVw7TWzRyfrz4D3Myg/viewform
What does a poll monitor do?
A poll monitor helps ensure every eligible voter that tries to vote has the opportunity. The monitor will be stationed at one polling place or go to multiple to help anyone in line who needs it, looks up voter info for anyone that asks, helps get voters to the right place if they're in the wrong precinct (either by driving or directing), tries to diffuse and report any form of voter intimidation, and ensures everyone in line when the polls close gets to vote.
What are the requirements?
For early voting, they need to go to a virtual training before their first shift. Then they would work from 8am - 6pm, with a lunch break during an off-peak hour. For Election Day, they would need to go to a 1-hour training on Sunday, November 1 and then work from 4:30am - 1pm or 1pm - 9:30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch. We will provide lunches on Election Day and give a lunch stipend for Early Voting.
Our elections won't work without poll monitors. If you're willing to be one, or want more information first, complete the form and Sheena Mathews will be in touch. If you have any questions please email [email protected]
