Afghanistan and Pakistan will play in the 24th match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai tomorrow. It will be the World Cup's fifth Super 12 match, and it will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan, who have won both of their Round 2 matches so far, is currently leading Group 2 in terms of points. Afghanistan is just one point behind Pakistan on the points table after defeating Scotland by 130 runs in their first match.
Because these two teams have only played one T20I against each other so far, there aren't many statistics to go on in terms of head-to-head records involving current players. However, given both teams' individual strengths, fans can expect this match to be exciting.
It's worth noting that Afghanistan and Pakistan both have a strong T20I record in Dubai. Afghanistan has won six and lost two of their eight T20Is at the venue, while Pakistan has won 15 and lost ten of their 26 T20Is.
The only T20I match between Afghanistan and Pakistan was played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium eight years ago. Pakistan had won by six wickets while chasing a 138-run target. Mohammad Hafeez, the veteran all-rounder who had led Pakistan at the time, had top-scored with 42* (37) and is still the only Pakistani player from that Playing XI in the current squad.
