Srinagar, Dec 12 (KNO): National Investigation Agency Saturday denied the reports about the acquittal of all the accused involved in the killing of Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith chief Jammu and Kashmir, Molvi Showkat as baseless and misleading.

In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an official spokesperson said that on Friday misleading news was published by some media houses that NIA Court in Srinagar has acquitted all accused in a case related to the killing of chief of Jamiat-e-Ahlihadeeth, J&K.

*Srinagar bride was killed by family members, didn’t die of heart attack: Police*

Srinagar, December 11: Srinagar police solved blind murder case in record time and have arrested accused involved in the commission of crime.

On 13-11-2020 Police Station Nigeen received directions from Honb’le Court of CJM Srinagar for filing report in the light of petition filed by complainant namely Nasir Hussain Kawa son of Gh Hassan Kawa resident of Kawpora Shadipora alleging that he was engaged to one lady namely Shahnaza daughter of Late Mohd Qasim Sultan resident of Sultan Mohalla Saida Kadal Srinagar & his marriage was fixed on 4/5 November 2020.

On 4/11/20 morning, he was informed that the lady died due to heart attack. Finally the complainant stated that he had apprehensions of the lady being murdered. Accordingly proceedings under section 174 CRPC was initiated.

Investigating officers learnt from the medical reports that the lady was actually murdered. The proceedings u/s 174 CrPC were converted into a formal criminal Case FIR No. 182/20 U/S 302 IPC was registered in PS Nigeen.

A special investigating team led by SHO Nigeen under the supervision of SDPO Zakoora immediately swung into action and started rounding up suspects in the instant case.

After hectic efforts and on human intelligence, the Special Team got the clues which were indicating the involvement of the family of the deceased. Among the suspects, Wajid Gulzar Sultan (nephew of the Victim) was put to sustained questioning. He confessed to the crime and divulged the details & the sequence of events. He revealed that he along with his uncle namely Mohammad Shafi Sultan & Sister namely Nighat Gulzar hatched a conspiracy to eliminate the lady namely Shahnaza as she has been their eyesore. Wajid & Nighat were related as nephew/neice to the deceased while as Shafi was step-brother of the deceased. The main conspirator is Shafi, who motivated Wajid & Nighat to take part in the killing of the victim.

Accordingly, on 3/11/20, they all hatched a conspiracy to eliminate her. As the victim used to wake up for prayers very early in the morning. On 4/11/20 wee hours, as she was busy in prayers, Shafi alongwith Nighat & Wajid entered the room & attacked the victim from behind & smothered her till death. Then they flattened & strangulated her with a Golden coloured piece of cloth in order to ensure her death. Later on, they tied the cloth with a fan and tied the dead body with it for deriving an assumption that she has hanged herself to death.

The motive of the murder was that Shafi being the step brother of the victim was not in good relationship with the victim and used to harass her on one pretext or other. On various instances, he used to torture her. Since their expired father had kept a piece of land for the victim, Shafi’s eye was on that piece of land. The jewellery which was brought by the family for the victim was also in Shafi’s mind. Since the victim was not happy with the articles especially jewellery brought by her family, as she had engaged in a verbal dual with the family especially with Shafi a day before the fateful day. Shafi was fed up with the behaviour of the victim. He also wanted to grab the piece of land & the jewellery. For that purpose, he persuaded Wajid & Nighat to help him in killing her. For that purpose, he promised both of them of equal share out of it.

Moreover, Shafi’s conduct was always questionable as he used to return home drunk which was always objected by the victim. After the disclosure of the accused & the linkage of other evidences, all of them were arrested. The article of offence was identified by the accused & recovered from their house. Further investigation into the case is in progress.

*Reliance Jio to roll out 5G in second half of 2021, announces Mukesh Ambani*

NEW DEHLI: Reliance Industries Chairperson and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said on Tuesday that his company’s subsidiary, Jio Platforms, will roll out 5G services in the second half of 2021.

“I assure you that Jio will pioneer the 5G revolution in India in the second half of 2021,” he said during his keynote address at the India Mobile Congress 2020. “It will be powered by indigenous-developed network, hardware and technology components.”

Ambani noted that the 5G service would be a “testimony” to the Centre’s “self-reliant India” programme, and said the government needed to take policy-related steps to accelerate the process for the early roll out of the network technology service.

He said that urgent policy steps were also needed to ensure that 1.3 crore people using 2G services can afford a smartphone to reap benefits such as direct benefit transfer, and are able to participate in the digital economy.

“I can say with utmost confidence that 5G will enable India to not only participate in the fourth industrial revolution but also to lead it,” the Reliance Industries head said. “Jio Platforms, with its family of over 20 startup partners, has built world-class capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data and machine learning, Internet of Things, mixed and virtual reality cloud and blockchain.”

Ambani said that his company was creating home-grown solutions in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, financial services, and new commerce. “Each of these solutions once proven in India will be offered to the rest of the world to address global challenges,” he said.

Reliance Jio is working with companies such as Samsung and Qualcomm to bring 5G in India, according to Gadgets 360. Ambani had in July announced that Jio would start testing 5G network in the country as soon as the spectrum was available. In October, Jio had announced it was developing its 5G Radio Access Network to assist in testing the next-generation network.

The roll out of 5G network would give Jio an advantage over other telecom companies. It is already the biggest company in the telecom sector with a market share of over 35%, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India data.

“The future holds great potential with the rapid technology progress,” he said at the India Mobile Congress 2020. “We need to work together to ensure a timely roll out of 5G to leapfrog into the future and empower millions of Indians.”

The prime minister also said that his government was working to provide every village with high-speed fibre-optic connectivity in the next three years. “We have already linked up the Andaman and Nicobar Island with fiber optic cable,” he said. “We are coming out with programmes that focus exclusively on places which can make the best out of such connectivity – aspirational districts, Left wing extremism affected districts, North Eastern states, Lakshadweep Islands etc.”

Highlighting the digital space in India, Modi pointed out that the country has 75 crore Internet users out of which nearly 50% were added in the last four year. He said that half of the total users came from rural India.

The prime minister also said that the government will take the help of mobile technology to conduct the “world’s largest Covid-19 vaccination drive”.
