This is probably one of my favorite projects ever directed – a film for @vogueitalia October cover starring Isabella Rossellini, a true icon and inspiration for many decades. I remember being mesmerised by her performance back in the days with the film blue velvet by David Lynch and there we were… on set together! Collaborating and creating this with @zhonglin_ and @mick.etc was also a super wild experience. We all had the chance to chat about nature, art, cinema, and the fashion industry with Isabella, which gave me a glimpse into her unique universe and how she perceives the world around her. - Gabriel Novis, Director
Isabella herself had a special request for the Vogue Italia team: “I asked Vogue Italia not to retouch the photos and leave me with my wrinkles.” In a world that often judges people’s worth by superficial standards, it was a remarkable moment when this legendary actress chose to embrace her natural beauty and proudly display her wrinkles on the cover of October Vogue Italia.
