By Monday night into Tuesday morning any light rain will change to light snow across portions of central and eastern Nebraska. Light snow will come to an end by late Tuesday morning.
⚠️💪🌀 POWERFUL AND LARGE STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING CHANCES OF ⛈️🌧 SHOWERS AND STORMS, ❄️☃️ HEAVY SNOW, AND 💨↘️STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS⚠️
UPDATED SATURDAY MORNING
⛈️🌧 Showers and thunderstorms will be possible across central and eastern Nebraska from Monday evening into Tuesday morning.
☃️❄️ Moderate to Heavy snow is expected across the Panhandle, Sandhills, and north-central Nebraska from Monday night into Wednesday morning.
💨↘️❄️ A strong cold front accompanying this storm system will slowly move east across Nebraska from Monday night into Wednesday morning as the storm system moves off to the northeast. Ahead of the front south winds will gust up to 30-40 MPH. Behind the front northwest winds of 25-35 MPH with gusts of 35-50 MPH will create dangerous winter driving conditions across the Panhandle, Sandhills, and north-central Nebraska. For the rest of Nebraska these winds will bring colder temperatures and eveb colder wind chills.
🤏❄️💨↘️ Light snow showers will still be possible across northern Nebraska from Wednesday morning to Wednesday night. Also brisk northwest winds of 15-30 MPH with gusts of 25-40 will linger on Thursday across all of Nebraska. Quiet weather will return by Friday.
⚠️💪🌀❄️💨⛈️ LARGE AND POWERFUL STORM SYSTEM WILL IMPACT OUR WEATHER FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON TO AT LEAST WEDNESDAY⚠️
UPDATED FRIDAY MORNING
Quiet weather is expected from Friday through Sunday. Weather turns more active as a large and powerful storm system moves into the central U.S. next week. This storm system will likely impact Nebraska's weather from Monday afternoon to at least Wednesday, possibly even into Thursday. On the warm side of this system showers and thunderstorms are possible across the eastern half of Nebraska from Monday evening into Tuesday.
On the colder, backside of this system heavy snow and wind are possible across the northern Rockies, the Dakotas, Minnesota, and maybe the Panhandle and Sandhills in Nebraska from Monday evening into Wednesday afternoon.
As this system pulls east of Nebraska colder air and lingering snow is possible across the northern half of Nebraska from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.
Storm track will have a huge impact on precipitation types, amounts, and impacts for Nebraska. As seen many times before in the last several months, Nebraska usually misses out on the badly needed moisture. Hopefully this storm system will change that.
