From our Bradford Women in Music collective:

It takes a brilliant team to make an event work, so we'd like to introduce the brilliant Keira who helps us make sure everything runs smoothly on the 'Let Them Eat Cake' women in music gig nights 🍰
She's also the friendly face that greets you on the door 🙂

I’m Keira Mellon, a 29-year-old Talent Manager with a deep passion for music and creativity. Currently, I manage Danny Sapko, a dynamic content creator who specializes in BEHS (bass guitar) content.

For more about my work, you can find me on Instagram and Facebook under

Proudly born and raised in Bradford, I’ve been an avid supporter of our local music scene from an early age—attending gigs, performing at open mics, and even being part of the Bradford punk band 'Mellon-collies'

You’ll often find me at Women in Music events, helping out at the door, or enjoying a drink in one of Bradford’s local hotspots.

Announcing our 2nd speaker at 'Let’s Make A Scene 3' the wonderful Nanette Brimble.

Nan has been a cornerstone of Bradford's music scene for over a decade. She founded and has been running YardFest Saltaire, an annual yard and street festival featuring live music as part of the Saltaire Festival. Beyond that, she established and runs a fortnightly jazz night, showcasing a diverse array of talent and securing funding from Jazz North to promote emerging artists. Nan also brings her passion for jazz to the airwaves, hosting The YardFest Jazz Hour on BCB Radio.

As a performer, Nan is deeply embedded in the local scene. She plays bass and provides backing vocals with Bradford band Gurgles, sings jazz with The Band Upstairs and as a guest with The Anchor Big Band, and is skilled on saxophone and flute. With many exciting projects in the pipeline, her dedication to Bradford’s music community shines through in everything she does.

Join us at Let’s Make a Scene 3 on Monday, 25th November, 6–10pm at The Underground, Bradford, where we’re excited to hear Nan’s stories, insights, and advice for anyone looking to carve out a career in Bradford’s thriving music scene. 🙂

This event is made possible by support from Bradford Producing Hub and The Underground.

Inspired by Soul, Gospel and R& B, her debut EP album titled ‘Never Leave You’ will combine songs she was led to write during the pandemic while making sense of the world around her. Her deep Christian faith, life experience and passion of storytelling has fuelled her desire to finally share these songs with the world and here hope is that it will bring light, hope and healing to those who listen.

It's time for our next exciting announcement on the line-up for 'Let Them Eat Cake' 🧁,  taking place on Friday 22nd November at The Underground,  Bradford.
Recently featured on BBC Introducing and fresh from the stage of St George's Hall where she performed for the launch of the Bradford 2025 Programme we have the fabulous ‘Afrobaby’ 😊

Afrobaby is a British/Nigerian artist based in Bradford, and draws on Electronic, Liquid DnB, Indie, and dark pop for her diverse sound. Inspired by her personal journey, she explores themes of grief and mental health, crafting music primarily in her bedroom on dark nights surrounded by ambient lighting and incense. Known for her introspective and soulful approach, Afrobaby intertwines personal narratives into her lyrics, encouraging healing, elevated vibrations, and vulnerable conversations among her audience.

We are really looking forward to this, get yourselves booked in now and bring a crew, it's going to be a great night 🥳

This event is supported by Bradford Producing Hub and PRS Foundation as part of the Amplify programme ❤️
