We had the pleasure of meeting these brilliant 'women in music' yesterday at .6fm as part of Bradford Music Month 🤩
These are some of the faces behind some of the brilliant programmes on BCB (Bradford's very own local radio) there are some exciting opportunities coming up for people to get trained up and create their own shows and we are very excited about it.
If you are interested, fancy learning more or dipping your toe in the water please get in touch with them. There will be another 'women in music' network event coming in January too for anyone else who'd like to get involved 🙂

It’s one week since ‘Let’s Make a Scene’!

We had an amazing response and it was fantastic to see so many of you turn out for the event!

We want to say a big thank you to and for hosting us , and our guest speakers / / /

Please remember to take all the advice on board and get onto / and to help your music careers!

Beyond that , we hope that you found the networking event useful and made some useful connections and contacts ! We can’t wait to see this all bear fruit !

From venue owners , studio owners , bands, artists , photographers, promoters etc it was great to have you there !

We also set up a photography booth for you to get some professional photos , so if you haven’t claimed them yet please email us @ [email protected]

We are very excited about our first Bradford Music Scene Social and Industry Event this Monday 6th Nov at we'd love to see loads of you there.

It's for everyone involved in the Bradford music scene, whether you are a musician (all abilities including newcomers), producers, sound people, managers, venues, radio people, photographers, promoters, studio people and anyone else we've forgotten!

We've got an excellent line-up of speakers from who will be sharing their knowledge with you, we'll be talking about the best way to work with us and make the most of our platforms and most importantly you'll be able to meet loads of other people in the scene so we can all support each other 🙂
It's going to be ace! Things kick off from 6pm, see you there!

We've got another fabulous artist announcement for 'Let Them Eat Cake' on Friday 3rd November, at Fuse Art Space. The brilliant Laura Ashleigh will be performing live for us 🤩

Laura Ashleigh is an exciting solo singer from Bradford whose rich soulful voice has taken her across the UK and Europe. If you enjoy gorgeous tones and captivating vocals, then this one-off hometown performance is not to be missed.

We are really excited about our next 'Let Them Eat Cake' 🧁 women in music gig showcasing local talent. This is one of our fabulous artists, the brilliant Femi Labad 😊

Femi is a 20 year old singer-songwriter born and raised in Bradford. She takes inspiration from a number of different genres including Neo-soul and pop, and uses this in songs she’s hoping to release on platforms soon. Femi’s songs are also heavily influenced by RnB and she loves to spend time writing over her own beats, as well as beats inspired by her favourite artists.

Introducing the brilliant Lucky Iris who will be performing at our next 'Let Them Eat Cake' 🧁 gig at we are really here's a bit about them:

Lucky Iris are Leeds based alt-pop duo, made up of Maeve and Jasper. Making infectious multi-faceted soundscapes that blend melodic hooks with alternative electronics and rich musicality, the duo make music to dance or cry to as they tread through lessons learnt in love and friendships. Having formed during lockdown, the pair have rapidly gained momentum, receiving taste maker press (Earmilk, Louder Than War, Punk News, God Is In The TV, Music Crowns, Lock Magazine), radio plays from BBC Radio 1, Radio X, BBC 6 Music, rte2fm, BBC Introducing Live Sessions and support from Amazing Radio as well as landing a number of Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists, the Premier League Official Playlist and Soccer AM’s ‘New Music’ playlist.
The pair have also been linked with Leeds based non-profit, Launchpad and now Launchpad+ who have provided funded and support to the band aiding their growth and development. More recently the band have secured Help Musicians funding as well as funding and support from the F-list, specifically tailored towards women and non-binary artists in the Leeds area. Most recently, following a wave of tastemaker hype and fresh off the back of having a sync on Love Island with their single ‘blowing kisses’, Lucky Iris release their hotly anticipated new EP ‘maybe i'm too much’. Written and produced by the duo, and mixed by Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Kaiser Chiefs) and mastered by Antony Ryan (Oh Wonder), the new single ‘blowing kisses’ is another fine addition to Lucky Iris’ glittering catalogue.

Our aim here is to get like minded people together to begin making connections , learn about how we can help each other as we progress towards making Bradford one of the best music cities in the country !
