Remembering Willa

My heart is breaking and I am crying as I write this. We lost Willa unexpectedly to a sudden health event. One moment she was playing and the next she was gone. I am not going into details as this has been so traumatic for all of us, but know that it wasn't anything we could have prevented or foreseen. She was as far as anyone knew, healthy. We've done routine labs annually for a number of years now and she just had her exam. We were told that this happens sometimes. We are beyond devastated and in shock.

Willa, we adored you so much. You were stunning beautiful and soft, sweet and spicy. You were our comedian and our clown and gave us so much joy. You took a while to become a cuddle bug, but when you did you gave the best hugs. Sitting here this morning I kept looking up waiting to see you walk towards me, reach up your one paw as you do and jump up on me with a chirp. I will miss your upside down morning cuddles. I will miss your face. I will miss you. Forever. We love you so much Willa.

I am going to be stepping away for a while, I'm sure you understand.

We have two shoulder surfers in the house, Echofrenetic and the beautiful bean. Needless to say the bean is a wee bit harder to cart around and is a wee bit less graceful 🤣

Willa’s “post-piddle” routine caught on one of our barf-cams (we’re monitoring litter box routines and watching for any IBD issues as we taper Echofrenetic off her steroids).

Look at the litter box dust flying! Her chubby little thighs! 😻Willa is a deep excavator, litter flying then spends a couple of minutes digging to “bury” tapping the sides of the box like a boxer on a speed bag, flapping the litter mat and burying absolutely nothing.
