1986 | Three separate (but related) locally produced commercials for Sub Station II.
There are still a few franchises scattered around the country, but the locations mentioned in these commercials all closed up shop years ago. The Mary Esther store was located on Mary Esther Cut-off across the street from Santa Rosa Mall.
1988 | Kelleyâs IGA commercial
1992 | K & B Ice Cream commercial
âItâs so good and creamyâ đłđđŹ
K&B Drugs was located at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Mary Esther Cut-off. The building still stands as a Dollar Tree today.

The old Fort Walton Beach location could be found where Sealand Restaurant resides today.

In Fort Walton Beach, Scottyâs was located both in Fort Walton Square and in the Sun Plaza Shopping Center.
1977 | Merry Christmas from JM Fields
The Fort Walton Beach / Cinco Bayou location was constructed in 1971. Pantry Pride supermarket occupied the other half of the space. KMart would eventually replace JM Fields as the occupant of that building for decades. It is a storage facility today.
1983 | Merry Christmas from TG&Y
May 1993 | Club La Vela commercial
Zayre opened at Fort Walton Square (the old Sears location) in 1980 and would close nine years later. This commercial is from 1989 and it mentions the nationwide closure of Zayre stores that year.
1975 | Gaylordâs Commercial
Gaylordâs was located at the corner of Racetrack Road and Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach. It would later become West Building Materials before transitioning into a storage facility.

1913 | Camp Walton, Florida postcard
1950âs | 8mm footage of the docks, motels, and cottages along Destin Harbor, as well as some familiar boats unloading their catch in front of wide-eyed gazes of adults and children alike. Afterwards, the whole family heads out to enjoy the (nearly empty) sugar white sand and emerald waters of Okaloosa County beaches.
This had to have been the vacation of a lifetime for this family, and throughout the editing process, I feel as if Iâve experienced much of it alongside them. Footage like this is an absolute treasure. If YOU happen to own anything similar to it, then please send it my way so that we may preserve and Share it. đ

1980âs | Three Nostalgic Commercials
One didnât have to actually grow up in Dothan, Alabama to become familiar with this long-standing business. The broad reach of CBS affiliate WTVY made sure that the entire Panhandle of Florida knew about the twenty dollar bill that could be had from Howard at âKingâs Furniture & Appliances, where we service everything we sell!â
1950âs | A family vacationing in Destin, Florida makes an added bonus roadtrip eastward to Panama City Beach. Along the way they ride a paddlewheel boat in a lagoon likely located in St. Andrews Bay, as well as other forms of 1950âs personalized watercraft. Iâve spent more than three hours clicking and blocking individual spam/bot accounts from overseas from ever seeing this page and they just. Keep. COMING!
As soon as I clear one hundred of them another thirty have already been added to the queue. It is SO annoying. I wish there were a way to block entire countries from seeing content. Iâd start with Bangladesh and Malaysia. I feel like if I donât do this for every single foreign account then each thread will be littered with the same garbage comments over and over again from some bot account telling people how he âstumbled across your page and am so enamored by you but for some reason cannot send you a Friend Request, so please be so kind and send Friend Request so that we can be Friends foreverâ or some equivalent bullsh*t. đđŒ đđŒ
Anyway, hope you all are enjoying the nostalgic content đ Iâve got some cool stuff on deck. đ
1960 | 8mm footage of the Motel Capri By the Sea which was located within walking distance of the old Crystal Beach Pier located in Walton County, Florida.
Hurricane Eloise had her way with that pier in 1975. The tops of the old pilings can still sometimes be seen after a rough storm.

-No right implied by this video. I just thought all of the content fit well together.
1967 | This family brought along two separate 8mm cameras on their vacation to Fort Walton Beach and Destin, Florida. Both reels have been edited together wherever it made sense to do so. I claim no copyright to the raw footage nor the music. I just thought they fit well together. Youâll see old school waterskiing on Santa Rosa Sound as well as some awesome color footage of frolicking and merriment on Okaloosa County Beaches back in the day. đ
