RIO HONDO Y MAMPANG COASTAL HIGHWAY by DPWH Regional Office IX Zamboanga Peninsula
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 9 has officially issued a notice to proceed for the highly anticipated construction of the Rio Hondo to Mampang Coastal Highway. This significant project has been awarded to the joint venture of HHH Developer & Construction and Mโs Construction Services, marking a crucial step forward in regional infrastructure development.
The construction of the Rio Hondo to Mampang Coastal Highway is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing economic development within the specified barangay and its surrounding areas. By improving access and connectivity, the highway will facilitate the movement of goods and services, thereby stimulating local businesses and attracting potential investments. Furthermore, the project is designed to improve flood control measures, which is particularly important for the communities that are prone to flooding. This dual focus on economic growth and disaster resilience underscores the comprehensive approach being taken by the DPWH in addressing the needs of the region.
In addition to the coastal highway project, there are also exciting developments on the horizon related to the Zamboanga City East Diversion Highway. This project is set to feature a modern viaduct that will connect to the future Zamboanga International Airport, which is planned to be located in the areas of Mercedes and Talabaan. The construction of this diversion highway is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the city, providing a more efficient route for travelers and freight transport alike.
As of September 25, 2024, the Zamboanga City East Diversion Road is currently in the Detailed Engineering Design phase, with a commendable progress rate of 68.33%. This indicates that the project is moving forward as planned, with careful attention being paid to the engineering and design aspects to ensure its success.
It is important to emphasize that these infrastructure projects are initiated and managed by the DPWH, and they are not affiliated with any political party or administration. This commitment to transparency and professionalism ensures that the focus remains on the development and improvement of public infrastructure for the benefit of the community, rather than on political agendas. The DPWH's dedication to enhancing the region's infrastructure is a testament to its role in fostering sustainable growth and improving the quality of life for residents in Zamboanga City and its neighboring areas.
