Nigeria votes to support violation of Iran’s women’s rights

_Twenty-nine nations voted in support of Iran’s expulsion, eight nations including Nigeria, Russia and China voted against it while 16 nations abstained from voting._

Nigeria, on Wednesday, joined seven other nations to vote in favour of retaining Iran on the United Nations Women Rights Commission despite Iran’s violations of women rights.

The U.S. called for Iran’s ouster after Tehran took action to forcibly put an end to demonstrations that broke out in response to the disputed death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian young woman, who died in custody.

Twenty-nine nations voted in support of Iran’s expulsion, eight nations including Nigeria, Russia and China voted against it while 16 nations abstained from voting.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, had said Iran’s continued membership was an “ugly stain” on the integrity of the commission. She asserted the U.N. known “for promoting gender equality and empowering women” cannot do “its important work if it’s being undermined from within.”

The resolution to “remove with immediate effect the Islamic Republic of Iran from the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) for the remainder of its 2022-2026 term” was approved on Wednesday by the U.N. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) comprising 54 member states.

Ms Amini, detained by Iran’s morality police over allegations of violating the Islamic nation’s strict dress codes, died mysteriously after spending a few days in custody.

Ms Amini’s death sparked global outrage as both local and international human rights groups excoriated Tehran. Women in Iran trooped out to the streets to protest the death of one of their own.

Some Nigerian citizens have taken to social media to celebrate Iran’s expulsion from the commission while distancing themselves from their government that voted to keep Iran on the commission in spite of the oppression of women.

Israel Adesanya arrested in New York

The UFC star was taken into custody by the police and airport security shortly after arriving at John F. Kennedy Airport. He was reportedly found in possession of metal knuckle while trying to go through security.

Brass knuckles are illegal in the United States and Mr Adesanya could face up to one year in prison if convicted, an official said.

The incident occurred at about 1:57 p.m. local time as Mr Adesanya was undergoing security at a terminal used by American Airlines, multiple local media reports said.

It was unclear if an appearance ticket was issued or if Mr Adesanya would be remanded in custody until initial court appearance, which has not yet been scheduled.

It was unclear where Mr Adesanya was traveling to when the incident occurred, although the boxing champion of Nigerian origin lives in New Zealand.

IGP Baba unaware court ordered him to arrest, remand EFCC chairman Bawa in prison custody: Police

“I am not aware of any order. Perhaps it was not addressed to us,” police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi told Peoples Gazette.

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, says he’s unaware of a court ruling that ordered the committal of Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, to prison over contempt.

“I am not aware of any order. Perhaps it was not addressed to us,” police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi told Peoples Gazette when asked if the police would carry out the court order.

Justice Chizoba Oji of the FCT High Court on October 28 ordered Mr Bawa to be committed to Kuje correctional facility for wilful disobedience after the commission failed to obey a prior judgement issued on November 21, 2018 regarding Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo, former NAF director of operations.

The court in 2018 had instructed the EFCC to return the sum of N40 million and a Range Rover Sport (Supercharged) to Mr Ojuawo, after he was found not guilty of receiving gratification from one Hima Aboubakar of Societe D’Equipment Internationaux Nigeria Limited.

The anti-graft agency for four years, failed to comply with the order, prompting Mr Oji to order Mr Bawa’s fresh remand in Kuje prison until the EFCC returned the aforementioned money and vehicle to Mr Ojuawo.

Mr Oji had specifically asked the police inspector-general to “ensure that the order of this honourable court is executed forthwith.”

However, Mr Baba’s assertion that he was not aware of the court order reveals a communication gap between the police and the judiciary.

The development marks the latest instance of blatant disregard of the law under the President Muhammadu Buhari regime.

It was, however, unclear how the order would be executed since Ibrahim Magu was the acting chairman of the anti-graft agency between November 2015 and July 2020 when the order was issued.

Appeal Court Ruling: Malami Is Pursuing Shadow, Igbo Governors Are Smatter - IPOB

The attention of the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership and command of the great liberator and prophet Mazi Nnamdi KANU has been drawn to the unintelligent, disgraceful and incoherent statements credited to the Attorney General Alhaji Abubakar Malami to the effect that the Igbo Governors and politicians will decide whether Mazi Nnamdi KANU will be released unconditionally.
What a clownish statement from the chief law officer of Nigeria , a SAN for that matter who should know better. Such illogical statements from the Nigerian government and its officials is one among many justifications for calling Nigeria the ZOOLOGICAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

IPOB believes that these Igbo Governors and politicians that Malami want to turn into a reviewing panel of the judgement of a competent court of Jurisdiction the Court of Appeal know the game and evil intention of the AGF and will certainly not fall for his *Greek poison* packaged in the deceptive form of making them relevant. IPOB can confidently posit that these governors and politicians are more intelligent than the fulani quota system Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation. This fulani terrorists sponsoring Government think that their divide and conquer tactics will work for them this time around in their attempt to try and shift the responsibility of the continued illegal incarceration of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra on the governors and politicians of South East extraction.Their agenda to create confusion and more problems in Igboland won't work. IPOB wants to ask Malami when did Igbo Governors and Politicians become a Court of superior mandate in Nigeria to decide if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu our Leader will be released unconditionally or not after the Appeal Court the second highest Court of competent jurisdiction has made a well reasoned rulling already. It seems Malami does not have the buckle to approach the Supreme Court now that the Aeroplane turner is no longer in charge hence the desire to supplant and foreclose that channel with trying to implicate governors and politicians of South East origin. Igbo Governors and politicians should understand this gimmick before going to any meeting that the Caliphate Government will call them to. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was discharged and acquitted by the Appeals Court not by Igbo governors and politicians. But if any Igbo Governor or Politician choose to be a willing tool and a useful idiot of the Caliphate, let that soul take over the responsibility of deciding if OHAMADIKE will be released or not. We dare that individual or group.

Malami and APC Government must release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally as declared by the Appeal Court and recommended by the UN Human Rights Working Group without delay because he committed no crime known to either Local or International law.

Malami have been releasing terrorists from prison without taking them to court but have decided to play a demy god by this attempt to disregard and disobey the judgement of the Court of Appeal, as it has ignored the opinion of the UN Human Rights Working Group.
We are still wondering how this kind of individual became a lawyer let alone become the Attorney General of a supposed democratic Nation. If an Attorney General of a Nation who is supposed to uphold the Justice system in a constitutional democracy is the one destroying the rule of Law, then Nigerians are in a big political mess with these kind of government officials saddled with immense responsibility of governance and upholding the law.

Nnamdi Kanu: 3 Justices on Appeal Court panel transferred

The three Justices that sat on the Court of Appeal panel that quashed the 15-count terrorism charge the Federal Government preferred against the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, have been transferred from their various divisions.

Investigation by Vanguard revealed that the three appellate court justices were transferred, four days after they delivered the judgement that discharged the embattled IPOB leader.

Whereas the presiding Justice, Jummai Hanatu Sankey, who was hitherto in the Gombe Division of the court, has been moved to Awka Division, Justice Oludotun Adetope-Okojie who delivered the lead judgement, was transferred to Owerri, while the third member of the panel, Justice Ebiowei Tobi, was moved to Gombe.

A memo dated October 17, which was signed by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, stressed that the new posting for the justices was with immediate effect as they were expected to report to their new stations by October 21.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will today (Monday), hear the appeal FG filed to stet aside the judgement that freed Kanu.

FG, in the notice of appeal it hinged on seven grounds, wants the apex court to stay the ex*****on of the judgement the appellate court delivered on October 13.

It is, among other things, contending that the appellate court panel erred in law and occasioned a miscarriage of justice when it relied on the manner Kanu was renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria after he jumped bail the trial court granted to him in 2017, to quash the entire charge against him.

It maintained that the appellate court acted in error by striking out the charge against the IPOB leader on the premise that the trial judge no longer had the jurisdiction to handle the matter.

Therefore, FG, through the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, is praying the apex court to in the interim, suspend the ex*****on of the Court of Appeal verdict, pending the hearing and determination of its appeal.

It will be recalled that the appellate court had in a unanimous judgement by the three-man panel of justices, accused FG of flagrantly violating all known laws in the way it forcefully rendered Kanu from Kenya to the country for the continuation of his trial.

It held that such extraordinary rendition, without adherence to due process of the law, was a gross violation of all international conventions, treaties, protocols and guidelines that Nigeria is signatory to, as well as a breach of the Appellant’s fundamental human rights.

More so, the appellate court noted that FG failed to refute the allegation that the IPOB leader was in Kenya and that he was abducted and brought back to the country without any extradition proceeding.

It held that FG was “ominously silent on the issue”, which it described as very pivotal in determining whether the trial court would still have the jurisdiction to continue with the criminal proceeding before it.

The appellate court held that FG’s action tainted the entire proceeding it initiated against Kanu and amounted to “an abuse of criminal prosecution in general”.

“The court will never shy away from calling the Executive to order when it tilts towards Executive recklessness”, the appellate court held, even as it accused FG of engaging in “serious abuse of power”.

New London photo fuels rumour Bola Tinubu now wears catheter bag for urine

The new photo shared by Mr Tinubu’s media team raised new concerns about the ruling party candidate’s possible urinary incontinence.

A new photograph of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged, where he wore an inner device believed to be a ‘catheter bag’ to expel urine, further raising questions about his frail health status, ahead of the 2023 general election.

A catheter is a device that collects urine into a drainage bag through an attached tube. It is typically used by people who cannot naturally pass urine.

The photo was released on Thursday afternoon by Mr Tinubu’s media aide Joe Igbokwe in a desperate attempt to douse concerns over his recent trip to London, including his absence at today’s peace accord signing in Abuja.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) were present at the event, where Mr Tinubu was represented by his running-mate Kashim Shettima.
The picture circulated on social media as a ‘proof of life’ showed Mr Tinubu meeting with the former interim chairman of the APC, Bisi Akande, and Najatu Muhammadu, a female chieftain of the party.

The Gazette gathered that the APC candidate had traveled to the United Kingdom, last weekend, a few days before the APC released the 422- member presidential campaign council (PCC) of the party.

His sudden trip has also fuelled speculations of another medical trip even as he claimed ‘fitted’ for marathon campaigns for the next year’s election.

Four medical doctors, including two surgeons, informed The Gazette that the outline of the “urinary bag” was apparent in Mr Tinubu’s photo.
Since he joined the 2023 presidential race, Mr Tinubu’s ailment has been generating concerns among Nigerians, especially critics of his personality, who have queried his suitability to succeed incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari next year.

In February, The Gazette published a video of Mr Tinubu’s visit to the palace of Awujale of Ijebuland in Ijebu Ode that revealed how his flowing garment was soaked from behind when he stood up to address visitors at the palace. One of his security aides could be seen frantically covering his nose in the video.

The footage elicited criticism from Nigerians, with many saying it suggested that the APC presidential candidate was suffering from urinary incontinence.
Aside from his health status, Mr Tinubu had consistently made slurred and incoherent comments at public functions.

The former Lagos governor has, however, emphasised that it is “unnecessary” for him to be physically fit to rule Nigeria, stressing that he was seeking to be president because he has the necessary mental alertness to govern a diverse and developing nation like Nigeria.

“If you hear them saying, can I do it? I am not applying for the job of a grave digger; not race running, I am not a horse. I am not applying for bricklaying. I went to school to study accountancy and management. I am applying for a job of the brain; intelligent thinking; it is a job for someone who is ready to do things right,” Mr Tinubu had said when he visited the palace of the Ooni of Ife and Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, in Osun.
Spokespeople for Mr Tinubu’s campaign did not return requests seeking comments about the protruding object under their principal’s clothes in London.

IPOB DECLARES TUESDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER, 2022 SIT-AT-HOME.

The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our indefatigable liberator Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu KANU wish to announce to the general public especially Biafrans that Tuesday 13th of September 2022 has been declared a day of civil action in the form of Sit-At-Home in Biafra Land.

The Tuesday 13th September, 2022 civil action is very important for two reasons:

First, Our Leader's Appeal court hearing that was supposed to be on October 11th has been brought forward to 13th September, 2022. As usual we call on Biafrans and lovers of freedom to demostrate our solidarity with our leader who is bearing our yoke in detention for over a year now. IPOB never issued a new directives to Biafrans, but is simply implementing an existing order to lock down Biafra Land any day the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra will appear in court at Abuja.

It was based on such agreement with our leader that informed the suspension of the initial Mondays sit-at-home declared by IPOB leadership in August of 2021. It is imparative that our people understand this and go about their daily work and businesses on Monday and get prepared for Tuesday the 13th of September 2022 because Biafraland will be LOCKED DOWN COMPLETELY.

Secondly, it has come to the knowledge of the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra that the Vulture in IKONSO HOUSE in Owerri the Imo state Government office has decided to insult the memories of our gallant men and women and of the youths of Imo State that he has been murdering in collaboration with the Nigerian terrorists in Army, police and DSS uniform by inviting the Imposter in A*o Rock Buhari to Oweeri the Imo state capital Tuesday the 13th of September 2022 the very same day the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be appearing in Court. What an affrontry and insult upon the land of Biafra and the people of Biafra.

Ekperima in Finland is enviously and jealously naive, ignorant and uneducated who lack logical reasoning and displays his stupidity publicly, shamelessly and ignorantly.

Let me educate the illiterate Ekperima On why Lolo Uchechi Okwu Kanu fully qualifies to go with the title FIRST LADY .

There is an adages that says people addresses you based on the way you are dressed.

This simply means you are being addressed based on merit, character or behavior.

In Ekperima recent tweets that he displayed his ignorance and his lowest lack of logical reasoning driven by envy and jealous of Lolo Uchechi Okwu Kanu IPOB first lady. He said and I quote. If you want to be called a first lady allow your husband to make the pronouncement when he becomes Biafran president or Biafra prime minister , criminal giving her title and it has entered her head . End of quotes.

It's laughable that the poorly educated Ekperima in Finland thought a president or a prime minister has to pronounce his wife as a first lady before a lady can enjoy such title.

The term first lady is an unofficial title according to Wikipedia

First lady is an unofficial title usually used for the wife, and occasionally used for the daughter or other female relative, of a non-monarchical head of state or chief executive. The term is also used to describe a woman seen to be at the top of her profession or art

Above is the definition of the first lady according wikipedia.

And this is what will take us back to my earlier statement that says people addresses people based on merit, character or behavior. An adages says you are addressed based on your way of dressing.

As I Have freely educated him above, that First lady is never an official title that demands a president or prime minister pronouncement .

It is necessary I educate him more that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of over 30 million registered members of the global movement of IPOB who are fighting for the freedom of Biafra under the umbrella indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide.

Therefore the Biafrans under his leadership has every right to accord his wife the respect and the deserving title ship of FIRST LADY . He Ekperima and other charlatans like him has right to disagree on that but his disagreement means nothing, on this subject matter this is because he is not an IPOB family member.

Some years back some charlatan like him had issue that IPOB members do address Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as the supreme leader of IPOB .

the owner of RadioNow 95.3 FM to interview Mazi Nnamdi Kanu . She confronted him with a question like, Are you the supreme leader of Biafra ? He never called himself Ohamadike 1 of Biafra which he is been popularly addressed as . But a member gave him such title on merit.

Thesame way the word Christianity was invented. The followers of Jesus the early church did not call themselves Christans rather they earn the name through their character as Jesus like and the word Christan was invented which means Christ like.

Can Ekperima in all honesty among all the titles he has added to his name tell us which one did he work to earn from the people if not a self proclaimed titles ?
