Qatar has stepped back from mediating Gaza ceasefire talks until there is “sincere willingness” to return to the negotiating table from both Hamas and Israel, a diplomatic source told several news outlets.
The source added that “the Hamas political office in Doha no longer serves its purpose.” Qatar, alongside the U.S. and Egypt, had been striving to secure peace and a captives release deal since the beginning of the war in Gaza. The gulf state added it is prepared to re-engage only if both sides show commitment to negotiations.

Al Annabi came to the match with wins against Nepal and Mongolia, yet suffered a heavy defeat against four-time champions Japan, failing to qualify as one of the best runners-up.
Qatar finished second in the group F with six points as Japan maintained their perfect record to qualify directly.
