The evidence for mHealth approaches in the delivery of public health messages is growing. The pregnancy and postnatal periods present a key opportunity to improve maternal health and future child health. This talk will describe the development process of a culturally tailored mHealth programme. txtpēpi is an individually tailored and personalised text message programme providing free information and support to māmā (mothers) and whānau (family members) during pregnancy and the first two years. txtpēpi was rolled out in February 2021. Evaluation of the programme's effectiveness on key infant and child indicators was undertaken alongside an assessment of the acceptability of the programme from end-user and stakeholder perspectives.

iPrevent is an Australian NHMRC-funded project to develop an evidence-based, tailored, and computerised breast cancer risk assessment and decision support tool. iPrevent was launched in November 2017 and served over 8,000 sessions in its first year of operation. In this talk, Adrian will talk about his journey as Technical Lead on the iPrevent project. He will provide a candid look at developing decision support software using an informatics team that was embedded within an academic research environment. His talk will cover the aspects that went well and those which were challenging, as well as post-launch matters to consider. This will be an at-times light-hearted look at the trials, tribulations, and victories that can arise in multi-disciplinary projects such as iPrevent.

OPEN-ACCESS EVENT
The rapidly growing market of medical and consumer wearables is resulting in increasing adoption of remote patient monitoring initiatives. However, as wearables data is collected under patient supervision in a dynamically changing environment outside the clinical setting, its quality imposes risks to the safety and quality of care. This reduces the data reliability for integration into clinical workflows and use in routine clinical practice.

Dr Robab Abdolkhani discusses principles to guide the collection & management of good quality data from wearables for patient care. Register via https://opendigitalhealth.org/event/wearables-and-healthcare-integration-principles-for-data-quality-management/
