Continuing on our international voyage, this week we spoke to the United Kingdom's own:

I met Harry this summer at the camp we both worked at and it was a blast. Harry knows how to have fun and this summer he took the time to show me how they like to turn up in Liverpool. Harry is a singer, a gymnast (not trained), a comedian (not trained) and an insane athlete. Harry has a song called "Losing you" on spotify & apple music (search up Losing you Harry King) which goes crazy (even though it's a sad song). Harry shared his limitless talents with us and I think it's only right we pay him back by sending this episode to the moon! Harry is on the right path, and being so young I am confident he is going to do incredible things for our world. I don't know when I'll see you again Harry, but thank you for changing my life this summer brother.

This episode has a Patreon exclusive bonus episode that I know will be worth your time, so if you’re enjoying the show and want to contribute, the link is in our bio! But if you cannot we completely understand. While season 2 is coming out, I’m hoping these episodes can bring a breath of fresh air!

Now, please join me in welcoming Harry King to the conversation 🤞🏽💜 - Keaton

Episode 7. Value Theory Ft. Cale Scotton

First of all, it’s time for another break from the show. I’m sorry! My practicum is the time equivalent to a full time job & more, plus I’m coaching basketball as well. My last day is December 9th, so you’re going to have to wait till then before I can focus on the podcast again.

BUT CALE IS BACK, I REPEAT HE CAME BACK FOR A SINGLE EPISODE. Idk about y’all but I think it was a lot of fun to sit down & talk about what “value” is with my dog. Taking a biased perspective as broke college student, I don’t think hoarding money is THE MOVE. I have seen and come to know that there are so many people in the world who need help, and I think it’s essential to give back when & where possible. While .scotton doesn’t agree that money is the root of all evil, I think it is something to consider. Hopefully this episode serves as a starting point for conversations about what is valuable between YOU, the listener and your people! Thank you always for listening and we hope you enjoyed!

WMYH? - Ep. 16: Noah Pim

Music makes the world go round.

I met at work this summer and it was a pleasure. Noah was born and raised in Ireland which is a huge culture shock to the warm embrace of the western labourer factory, *ahem* I mean North American society. Noah is not a huge "flash" guy, he likes to keep his life simple and have a good time, it was a blessing to learn from his pace of living this summer. Noah is one of the most genuine people I've met, he has insane emotional intelligence and he's an phenomenal conversationalist. In my humble opinion, it is our privilege to welcome Noah to the conversation because this guy is everything and a can of worms. Noah big guy, I hope life back in Dublin is treating you properly and thank you genuinely for taking the time to sit down with me this week!
Welcome to the conversation,
    •    Keaton 🤞🏽💛

Episode 6. Addiction: An inside look Ft. Michael Mackenzie

Look I know this episode was a tough listen because I droned on about psychological stuff. BUT Michael was here to save you all from that, and I think we learned quite a lot about the biological, chemical, physical and psychological aspects of addiction. Truly, you wouldn't shame someone with 6 months left on their life bid with lung cancer, even if they smoked a pack a day for 20 years would you? In the past, sure you definitely would have tried to help steer them in the right direction but you wouldn't shame them. Addiction is a disease, just like cancer is a disease, so hopefully this episode gave you perspective on why we should treat the addicts of the world with a little more grace. We spoke about patterns of dependence, the psychiatric & disease models of addiction, Tolerance & withdrawal in the first part of the episode. Leaving the psychological & physiological aspects of addiction, Michael's handmade "treatment plan" (NOT REAL MEDICAL ADVICE) and actual practiced treatment options for addictions for the 2nd part of the episode.  Hopefully this episode serves as a educational & empathetic resource for YOU, the listener to understand the complexe relationships behind our addictions! Thank you always for listening and we hope you enjoyed!

A change of tone for the mid-season premiere.

Although we strive to spread nothing but love & positivity at The Fork in The Road, life isn’t always sunshine & rainbows. I’m sure everyone knows atleast one person who has struggled with some form of an addiction in their life. It isn’t an easy road to navigate, and it’s easy to assume there is no solution. But most drugs affect each individual different, the same can be said for treatments of addictions. graced us with his presence this week, but don’t get us wrong, we aren’t med students. The goal of this episode was to learn a little more about the faces of addiction, and put some sympathy out there for our brothers & sisters going through it right now. We hope you’re looking forward to the second half of season 2!
Peace & love,
- Keaton 🤞🏽💜

WMYH? - Ep. 15: Kyler Dyck

Gym class hero? Not this guy.

I’ve known since we were 9 years old. I cannot lie when I met him, I thought he was a ghost. Kyler was born on a leap year which is REALLY COOL, and he’s also got the biggest set of metaphorical balls I’ve seen on a person. This fearlessness is a tool, but even the biggest and the best need to slow down and meditate (in their own way) for a period of time! Kyler sat down this week and talked about almost failing gym class, the importance of silence every once and a while, and the weight of having “a bunch of fu***ng pussies” for best friends. Kyler is one of the most loyal, hardworking and genuine people that I know! Unfortunately I haven’t got to see him enough this summer (my job is nuts) but I love him all the same! Kyler brother, thank you so much for taking the time to teach me and the rest of the world about your experience! And I hope you’re all ready to give him a warm welcome, as he is the newest member to the conversation!

WMYH? - Ep. 14: William Betzner

Sometime life gets slow and boring.

And in Canada, we’re expected to KNOW what we want to do with the rest of our lives by the time we’re 18? S**t doesn’t make any sense to me to be honest! But after a chance encounter with a doctor, William Betzner finally figured it out! He sat down this episode to talk about everything, fishing, biology/physiology and human dissections, being hired for someone’s 17 year old birthday party and much more!betzner has continued to be one of the funniest, most hardworking and hyperactive people that I know and he’s proud to be a co-founder of (a flyfishing lesson company) along with . Hopefully you learned something from this beautiful conversation, and William I cannot thank you enough for;
1. Being a part of my life, you bring a lot of much needed joy 😂
2. Becoming a part of the conversation, you have a wealth of knowledge and hearing you talk about you passions is a blessing!
Thank you for taking the time and sharing your wisdom with us and the world!

Episode 5. The Unconscious Mind

The brain in a complex organ that is an amalgamation of biochemical and physiological processes. We have countless neurons in our brain that are relaying action potentials from one node of ranvier to another. These electrical signals allow us to communicate to our physical body what we want to do! Unfortunately, our being is not fully controlled by these processes. This week I sat down and spoke about repression & other defense mechanisms, The conscious, unconscious, & subconscious minds as well as the Id, Ego, & Superego. We wrapped up talking about Sigmund Freud's Psychosexual theory. Hopefully this episode serves as a stepping-off point for YOU, the listener to understand the correlations between our neurochemistry and psychological processes ! Thank you always for listening and we hope you enjoyed!

WMYH? - Ep. 13: Tegan Mackinnon

Graduating university means a whole host of new challenges!

When we’re younger, our world view is usually restricted to the views of our inner circle. While these can be great, they may not be views that you truly hold. Tegan sat down with us this week and talked about how moving cities gave her a new perspective physically, emotionally and spiritually. T-Mack has to be one of my favourite people because there aren’t many others who care as much as she does.
Although she was raised in St. Albert, Tegan really came into her own after moving to camrose and meeting different people.
Hopefully this episode provides you, the listener, with some ways to get through your own worst days!
And Tegan, I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to help build the conversation. It means the world to me, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you! Thank you for taking the time and sharing your wisdom with us and the world!

Episode 4. The Ethics of Animal Care Ft. Suntie Hienkeo (Part 3): A Functional Vegan Diet

So to wrap up, there’s not point in talking about veganism as a philosophy without showing you it’s functional! sat down at the end of this weeks episode to give us a starting point for adopting this lifestyle! Should we see fit of course.

I just want to remind you, there are no RIGHT answers. The goal here is to illuminate some options of philosophies that you could employ to help live a more ethical existence! So, hopefully you find some time to sit with us this week and learn from Sunny! Even if you don’t agree with us, I’m sure you can find some value in this weeks episode! Thank you always for listening and we hope you enjoyed!

The last episode of the three features my brother Kyler Dyck. Kyler is actually only 5 years old, and he doesn’t turn 6 until 2024. But for someone so young, he has absolutely no fear. Which does work in his favour most of the time!

Let me start off by saying this episode IS NOT FOR THE KIDS. is pure comedy, but seriously the profanities were FLYING this week. The thing I admire most about Kyler is his willingness to take risks and push the envelope at every opportunity. Whether it’s skiing, folding his opponents in lacrosse & football, or just being the guinea pig for every horrible plan we have, this guy is always in the lead. Ky and I have shared some crazy experiences over the years, so you know this episode is going to go crazy!🔥🔥

This episode also has a patreon exclusive episode that I genuinely think will be worth your time, so if you’re enjoying the show and want to contribute, the link is in our bio! But if you cannot we completely understand. While season 2 is coming out, I’m hoping these episodes can bring a breath of fresh air!

Now, please join me in welcoming Kyler Dyck to the conversation 🤞🏽💙 - Keaton
