EXO is a South Korean-Chinese boy band produced by SM Entertainment. They debuted in 2012 and were initially composed of twelve members, divided into two subgroups: EXO-K (performing in Korean) and EXO-M (performing in Mandarin). The group's name was inspired by the term "exoplanet," which refers to planets outside of the solar system.
EXO gained popularity with their debut single "MAMA" and their first studio album "XOXO," which sold over 1.5 million units worldwide. They became the youngest boy band to win Album of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and achieved multiple number-one hits on music shows.
Over the years, EXO has won numerous awards and accolades, both in South Korea and internationally. They have been recognized as one of the most influential and successful K-pop groups, often referred to as the "kings of K-pop." EXO has a large and dedicated fan base, known as EXO-L.
The group has released several albums, including "XOXO," "Exodus," "Ex'Act," "The War," "Don't Mess Up My Tempo," "Obsession," and "Exist." They have also embarked on various concert tours, including the EXO Planet series and joint tours with other SM Entertainment artists.
In addition to their music career, EXO members have been involved in endorsements and philanthropy. They have endorsed brands such as Samsung, Nature Republic, and Skechers, and have participated in charitable activities and donations.
