We have lost our way.

Something terrible has happened to Nigerian democracy between 1999 and today that I struggle to explain. From 1999 to 2015, a degree of internal democracy existed across political parties. But since 2015, it has virtually vanished.

When internal democracy vanishes from political parties, the negative effects inevitably spread across the entire country. Politicians no longer care about the people's will; they now believe in money and manipulation to win elections. A citizen's vote no longer counts—what matters to politicians is the power of vote-buying.

Democracy is dying every day, and our politicians are acting as its undertakers.

Nigerians must wake up and fight for their future.

Well-deserved chase.

The moment South Africans chased away Nigerians selling goods by the roadside in South Africa, telling them to return home and fix their country.
We refuse to hold our leaders accountable at home instead we run to another country thinking that we have escaped from bad government at home. You are joking bro.

We must fight to fix this country without minding what the corrupt politicians put in place to protect their interests.

Nigeria faces a profound crisis of exploitation from within. The nation is often treated as a resource to be extracted from, rather than a people to be served.

The world sees Nigeria and its people as a cow to be milked without consequence. Politicians plunder the nation's commonwealth, while harmful government policies strangle the citizens. The private sector, particularly the banking and telecommunications industries, has become a hub of fraud, siphoning billions from Nigerians every minute. And what of aviation, petroleum, and other sectors? The corrupt system has reduced Nigerians to a state of helplessness, with no hope or relief in sight. Governments at all levels show no intention of doing what is right.

Those in power are busy looting our shared wealth through their friends, families, relatives, and global business partners. Anti-graft agencies like the ICPC and EFCC, which are meant to stem this outflow of money, are comatose—redundant, inactive, powerless, and compromised.

Nigerians must overcome their fear and hold these criminals accountable by any means necessary.

Economic reform without respect for the rule of law and the rights of citizens will be destroyed by the revolt of the oppressed.

Nigerians must listen to the voice of courage that echoes from Uganda.

Freedom is earned, not given.

Nigeria claims there was a coup, yet has provided no names, photos, or identities of the alleged perpetrators. A nation with a generation of unserious youth is doomed to be led by feckless leaders.

This is for Nigerian Lawyers.

He said we are now practicing the Bar, not practicing law.

His reasoning is simple. Lawyers have lost the respect of government agents because we choose to be silent and allow ourselves to be intimidated, instead of fighting back as lawyers should.

Listen to him.

Medicine after death: Our greed, Dangote's negligence, and government failure will continue to hold us back.

What is the point of re-erecting a barricade after so many lives have already been lost?

Our progress will continue to be held back by a combination of our own greed, the negligence of companies like Dangote, and government failure.

Such tragedies will always occur when people are greedy, constantly thinking of how to make money by any means without considering the well-being of their community.

We must also blame the government, which failed to monitor the contractors working on the road. These contractors carelessly removed the first barricade on the Ikare-Akungba road while construction was still ongoing in Ikare.

This incident cannot go without consequences for those whose negligence and greed caused the terrible accident. They must be held severely accountable for deliberately violating the "duty of care" owed to the people who died.

The government must do everything necessary to ensure that justice is served.

My condolences to the families of the departed.

May their souls rest in peace.

It is an Offense: Stop Using the Nigerian Coat of Arms on Fez Caps.

It is a criminal offense to place the Nigerian Coat of Arms on a fez cap. Nigeria is not a private company or a clubhouse where individuals can do whatever they like with state symbols.

The governing law on this issue is the Coat of Arms, Flag and Other Provisions Act, Chapter C23, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004. This Act explicitly prohibits and criminalizes the misuse of the National Coat of Arms.

The law makes no distinction regarding the medium. Whether it is printed on paper, engraved on metal, or woven into fabric like a fez cap, the act of unauthorized reproduction and use is the offense. The fez cap is considered an "article" on which the symbol is displayed, which is explicitly forbidden.

Can an ordinary citizen legally use the Coat of Arms? No. A private citizen cannot crest the Coat of Arms on a fez cap or any other item for personal use. This is not merely a civil infringement but a criminal offense.

The Coat of Arms is our collective symbol of national pride and authority. As a citizen, I cannot fold my arms and allow anyone to denigrate this sacred emblem.

If you wish to show patriotism, you can use the Nigerian flag, as its use by citizens is governed by different, more permissive guidelines. The Coat of Arms, however, is reserved for official state use.

Therefore, I call on President Tinubu to call his son, Seyi, to order. He is publicly violating this law. Such actions show disrespect to Nigeria and its citizens, and no one should be above the law.

Fela Castro, for truth and justice.

Peace Talks Without Laying Down Arms.

Yesterday in Katsina State, bandits reportedly held peace talks in five different local government areas.

In the North, it seems our constitution is ineffective, while it appears to be functioning well in the South. How can a country progress under these circumstances of injustice? We are coddling individuals who are killing innocent Nigerians with ineffective “peace talks” instead of taking decisive action against them. If Southern Nigerians follow the Northern approach to banditry with these kinds of arrangements, what do you think Nigeria will become?

The best solution to Nigeria's problems is for President Tinubu to implement regional government. If Northern leaders were to use their states' or regional resources to confront bandits instead of coddling them, they would understand how wasteful and painful it is to harbour terrorists and bandits.

Northern leaders are treating these bandits with kid gloves through the misguided “peace talks” they keep promoting. President Tinubu must prioritize establishing a regional government so that each region can develop at its own pace.

This needs to stop.

Fela Castro, an advocate for justice and truth.

Say Amen to this prayer.

Listen to this and stop selling your children's future. What did you do with the ₦10,000 you received during the last election? If you don’t change your mindset, they will keep buying your children's future to secure their own. Don’t allow yourself to be used as a stepping stone.
